OUR BEST; SR6 H6 CAESARS PALACE($9.50) Great win last start when leading all the way. We are expecting him to be up on pace again but probably just behind Just Valour. Drops a kilo from last start and loves the track and distance and the soft track is ideal. Huge chance for back to back wins here. 

CAESERS PALACE($9); last beaten 6.4L, every chance dropped out.

BR5 H2 BALLER($8.50) Has been running super this prep. Is super fit for his target race this prep. Will be up on the speed from barrier 2. Loves the track and distance and with Tommy Berry onboard is a huge bonus. Hopefully hitting the front at the 100m. The whips will be cracking!

BALLER($9); 10th beaten 4.8L, beaut run in transit 4th behind the leaders did nothing in the straight. Very Disappointing!!

SR9 H8 EL BUENA($7.50) Been waiting for this galloper to start again and finally is. His last start win was quite good was on the fence and pushed through the gaps to get out and was strong through the line. Loves the track and distance and the wet ground not an issue. Parr aboard from barrier 10 should be midfield hopefully one out one back. If gets a nice economical run he will be super tough to beat!

EL BUENA($9); 4th beaten 1.3L, looked  a winning chance on straightening but just plugged from the 200m mark.

MR5 H4 NOT TO BE MIST($3.10) Ran on strongly last start after sitting wide the entire race. Has barrier 8 here but confident he can get a sit midfield one out one back. Loves the track and distance and carries the same weight as last start. Huge chance! 

NOT TO BE MIST($3); 5th beaten 3.7L, got a long away back and it was obvious as they entered the straight it was never going to figure.

SUMMARY: What a cracking day last week with 23 winners in our top 4 and 2 winners and a placegetter in our best. Hoping to keep the new year ticking along with a few more winners this week. We will get stuck into the Gold Coast races and the Magic Millions 2 year old and we think from barrier 4  Russian Conquest($7) can upset the fav here. Won easily last start at Randwick in the 2 year old plate. Will be up on the pace and be stalking the leaders, with a nice run in transit should be hard to beat. Coolangatta($2.10) has been winning easily when in front with no pressure. From barrier 13 if he can get to the front with out much trouble will be hard beat but we are expecting a bit of pressure and if things don’t go its way might find it hard to win the last 100m. Cusack ($29) won well at Ballarat 8 weeks ago and has had two trials leading into this and won them both. Should be up on the pace and be hard to run down. Soaring Ambition($16) ran on well last start after missing the kick, expecting she will go back from the wide gate with plenty of speed inside and will be steaming home ! Miss Hellfire ($10) kept hitting the line hard first up when second to Soaring Ambition, then was second in running last start took over and just held on but didn’t handle the wet all too well in our opinion but class prevailed. Will be midfield and steaming home. Cracking race. The Magic Millions 3 Year old Guineas and we think Shihonka($15) can get away with this at a price here. Hasn’t done anything wrong this prep, struggled on the heavy ground last start so back to good ground here suits. Loves the distance and should be on pace from barrier 9. If she leads will be super tough to beat. Jamaea ($5.50) has been trialling well for this first up attempt and looks ready to go. First up and over this trip just tread weary, but her only fail at this trip was in the group 1 Golden Rose. Indiscreetly ($13) has been in fine form at her first three starts to career winning all three and latest won by 6L. Has the wide barrier to contend with so might have to take a sit but fully expecting if gets a good run in transit will be there in the finish. Me Me Lagarde ($13) has been flying also and from barrier 23 will get back like last start. The step up to 1400m will suit and will be steaming home with a bit of pace up front ! Snitzonfire ($26) gets a start and will be in front for a long way and has been working up to a win from the 6 week let up. Fit and ready to go. Just a quick mention about the Astrologist ($5) in Flemington race 7. Loves the track and distance and will be super tough to beat. Cracking days racing up here on the goldy and it shall be a fantastic day with sunny conditions all round.
