MR6 H6 SIR PIPPIN($10); already the winner of a BM84 and up 3kgs but he is building to a distance that is even more to his liking, drawn to settle midfield he finishes off powerfully. He is Our Best
Sir Pippin($6.50); 4th beaten 3.6L, great run behind the speed on the fence and when produced in the straight only plugged to the line. Disappointing
MR9 H9 MUMBLES($8.50); a horse that is well weighted in this, meeting Poised To Strike 3.5kgs better here after that horse beat him by a half head last start. He was slowly away and held up at a crucial stage he rattled home. 1100m will suit him better.
Mumbles($9.50); 7th beaten 4.2L, held up slightly at the 400m but when clear ran on only fairly in a leader dominated race.
SR8 H7 GUARD OF HONOUR($19); this horse is a seasoned open class sprinter who has come back this prep in good form. Ran a great third to Viridine in Listed grade last start, in pretty well here after the claim. Deprive and Cradle Mountain are just out of BM grade, we think this bloke might have the edge.
Guard Of Honour($11); 10th beaten 5.9L, sat 4 wide back in the field after jumping well then was even wider rounding the corner had nothing left when produced. Victim of circumstances maybe.
SR9 H16 KOONUNGA($6); she will race up behind the speed and with her light weight (53kgs) give them something to think about at the distance. Although up in grade a bit her weight will negate that.
Koonunga($5.50);last beaten 6.9L; HORROR WATCH IN THE STRAIGHT.
A cracking day here in Brisbane and Eagle Farm should be on fire. Huge fields are the order of the day with a plethora of chances in every race. FLUTTER CORNER this week I am a small play on Exoteric($71) this horse starts to fire at his 3rd run in and has a pretty good record from that point in his prep, from gate 2 he just might roll forward, this is a winnable race. GROUP 1 Kingsford Smith, a big field and they will be coming from everywhere at the distance, the 2 year old Dubious($16) with 48kegs and gate 14 will go fast and lead them along The Bostonian($7.50) and Dollar For Dollar($15) just might get the drop on him and provide the same quinella as the 10,000 with Outback Barbie($12)(unlucky same race), Trekking($6.50) and Redouble($51) right there when the whips are cracking. Massive fields in every state just the way we like it here at Horsebuck$ and sometime in these large fields the obvious is just that. Last week another very good day for Our Best players wit Declare War and Quilista saluting lets keep the momentum going and there was action aplenty for everyone. We had 22 winners in our top 4 selections with 7 on top selections successful our best being Spunlago $21 and The Bostonian $10 which was highlighted in our pre race summary. Best bets was a horror watch with Koonunga and Guard Of Honour both out of luck. But a cracking day all round.
