SR6 H1 CASTELVECCHIO($3.80); We have pin pointed this horse as our Champagne stakes horse when it ran 3rd to Microphone the first time they met. He Ran well last start when too far back and steaming home along the outside to run third from last. The step up to the 1600m is crucial . From barrier 4 hopefully he can sit a touch closer to them and not lose sight of the leader. Good track suits. Josh Parr knows the horse well. He is our best. Giddy Up
Castevecchio ($3.80 – $3); FIRST, this fellow is a pretty good galloper, he travelled beautifully mid field let down at the distance and towelled them up easily. Big follow on this horse in the spring.
MR9 H1 DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR($7); Great First up Stats and did win a listed race first up last prep. He placed in the Sir Rupert Clarke (group1) last prep. Back to handicap conditions with 58.5kgs on his back after the claim is a huge bonus. Loves the distance 2 from 2. He has placed at caulfield before 5 goes for 2 placings, in group 1’s and group 2’s. From barrier 5 he can sit up on the pace get a nice sit in behind and be pouncing on the lead strongly to get the cash.
Dollar For Dollar($7 – $6.50); second($2.50 place) beaten 2L, travelled well within himself in the lead but Haunted was always lurking, he looked in a lot of trouble at the distance but to his credit fought back strongly for second. Looked a little above himself in the parade so a definite follow up next start.
SR8 H9 BRAVE SONG($15) Is a fantastic fresh horse 3 goes 2 wins and a placing. The snowden team have got this horse ready to win this race with three trials under its belt. This suggests to us this is a target race for the gelding. Loves the track and distance and loves a good track!. From barrier 10 if he can get a sit midfield he should be able to sprint at the 200m and make it very interesting for Home Of The Brave !. The whips will be cracking !!
Brave Song ($15 – $17); Second($4.40/place) beaten 0.3L, great run by this horse a conspicuous last on settling he was up just behind the field on straightening, peeled widest in the straight kept coming to be beaten by a half neck. BRISBANE BOUND??
A lot of rain fell over night in Brisbane. The track has gone from a good 3 to a soft 7 track. But we have looked over our selections and have made sure our horses handle the changed track conditions. In FLUTTER corner this week. We were originally going to write about rosendahl red’s chance in race 8 Brisbane. But due to the rain and him not handling soft tracks. We will be having a flutter on Light Up The Room at ($15). Ran super at Toowoomba last start over the 1300m . Second up off a spell stepping up to 1600m is bonus. 1 from 1 on SOFT tracks and loves doomben.
