SUMMARY: Our Best for today are ***  SR6 H12 SURF’S UP($7) SR8 H13 GLAD YOU THINK SO($6.50) MR4 H4 PUDDING($6.50) MR5 H15 ACTUALITY($4). Let’s dive straight into the Doomben Cup and we think Half Yours($4.20) can win today. 3RD up and the distance suits. Don’t think the race will be run at the frantic pace like last start so it should play well for Half Yours and back to weight for age suits. Pride Of Jenni($3.50) was suited by the leaderish track at the goldy last start and most of the horses behind her where only getting going late. Think she will be closer to the pack this time over 2000m. Not her optimal distance but will give a sight in a small field. She’s A Hustler($7.50) run last start was a cracker when charging home form the back. The extra 200m suits and will be steaming home once again hopefully over the top of them. Vauban($9) had a couple of excuses in the Tancred before and 8-week break with a nice trail in between. Back to the 2000m and Timmy Clarke aboard is a bonus. This might be his best prep in Australia since his arrival many moons ago. Cracking race. Just like to mention Recon($4.80) race 8 in Melbourne. Had no luck in the Goodwood(G1) last start. Has raced over 1400m and judging by the replay of that it wasn’t a very fast run 1400m raced but he savaged the line hard the last 200m. He’s more mature now and knows how to win. A windy day here on the goldy. Off for a pub crawl for my best mates bday so hopefully plenty of winning and cheering going on throughout the day.
