BR9 H5 WARBY($2.90)His run first up was a cracker over 1200m. Second up straight up to 1400m is ideal. Plenty of pace in this race so being back shouldn’t be an issue. Adept in all conditions. Is the class horse and will be steaming home!
WARBY($3.40); FIRST GIDDYUP!!! sat behind speed railed up at the distance too strong.
MR7 H1 TOO DARN LIZZIE($3.00) Hoping for a cleaner getaway from this galloper cause it’s the likely leader with out a lot of pressure on paper. 1600m shouldn’t be a problem. Loves the cut of the ground too so hopefully its stays softish but even so does run well on a good track. Craig Williams aboard is a huge bonus. Is great third up and will be very hard to run down.
TOO DARN LIZZIE($2.30); 2nd/$1.20 place beaten 2.3L, led challenged on turn fought on for second. Winner a better horse.
MR10 H7 CLEAN ENERGY($3.00) Great return first up when under pressure from about the 400m and fought doggedly to the line only beaten 0.31 on the line. Second up straight out to the 1200m is ideal. The form around her is insane. Beat Lady Shenandoah last prep in Brisbane and look what that horse has done this prep. The winter carnival sunshine does wonders to these horses in QLD. Huge chance and most likely leader with some pace from one of the outsiders in the race.
CLEAN ENERGY($2.70); first giddyup!!! well back rouding them up as they cornered, powered late for a strong win.
MR11 H5 KLABEL($15) In our opinion the price of this galloper is insane. Good for us but had it way shorter in the market based on form. Ran in the Group 3 Shaftesbury Handicap last start and wasn’t far away at all. Dropping back to a benchmark 96 is ideal and only carrying 57kgs. Loves the 1200m and has good gate speed and will possie up just behind the speed here. If there’s no speed he might just take it up? have to wait and see. Huge chance and will be there for a long way.
KLABEL($14); 4th beaten 3.7L, solid run on an indifferent track.
Summary: A Massive day of racing with 6 Group 1’s 5 in Sydney and 1 in Melbourne. Lets dive straight into it and go with the Slipper and Rivellino($10) with Hughy aboard looks hard to beat. He has a great barrier and will be able to choose his spot and with plenty of pace about should be able to run home hard. 1200m big tick. Devil Night($13) won the Blue Diamond last month. Beat subsequent winners in Tentyris and Tempted who won key lead up races leading into this. Form around him brilliant and another who ticks the 1200m box. Skyhook($7.50) his form ties in well with Rivellino who only just beat him 2 starts ago when arguably should have won. Then came out and put bad luck out of the equation by leading, green but bolted in. He can sit just behind the hot speed and another who ticks the 1200m box. Wodeton($5.50) run off his feet over the 1100m 2 starts back then beaten by a smart type who isn’t here. Placed over 1200m and will be charging home! Tempted($5.50) had no luck in the Blue Diamond and the pace was on in the Reisling(A key lead up) but still had to round them up and did it well. From barrier 1 she will let the pace scoot across her and has ticked the 1200m box. An absolute cracking race and can’t wait for the build up. The racing on Saturday is insane and we are pumped here at Horsbucks! Really getting into the thick of things. So much to take out of these races so we will be watching very closely all the replays all weekend.
