BR7 H8 ATLANTIC OCEAN($8) Got too far back last start so be forgiving of that. Should be around midfield from barrier 6. Loves the track and distance and J Orman on is a bonus. Drops 1.5kg into this. Great Chance.
ATLANTIC SALMON($); 7th beaten 3.7L, short and sweet did nothing.
SR4 H1 WAY TO THE STARS($4.80) Has had 2 trial placings leading into this first up attempt. Is a fast horse who should lead from barrier 1. Loves the track, loves the distance and is adapt in all conditions. Huge Chance.
WAY TO THE STARS($); 3rd/n.t.d beaten 2L, no idea what the postillion was doing on this horse. Should have been freewheeling it at the distance. ??
SR7 H1 BUBBA’S BAY($6.50) Battled on bravely first up over the 1100m on heavy ground. The extra 100m’s suits and is even better second up. A drying track will only help her chances. Loves the track and distance. Carries same weight as last start. Fitter and will be hard to catch.
BUBBA’S BAY($); 3rd/$2.20 place beaten 1L, jumped in front eased to 3rd on the fence. Great run in transit, loomed large at the distance fought on strongly. Great ride.
MR9 H16 ELOUYOU($2.30) Been flying this prep and got the win he deserved last start. Stays at the 1400m which is ideal. Should roll forward and be on pace here. D Lane aboard is a huge bonus. Is adept in all conditions. Caulfield will suit.
ELOUYOU($); 3rd/$1.30 place beaten 1.6L, great run behind the leaders, presented at the right time just not good enough on the day. Fought on.
SUMMARY: No luck in Our Best last week a couple of them with funny tactics :/ and a couple weren’t good enough. Hopefully we have found a few this week to fill the coffers. Lets dive straight to the first Group 2 of the season The P.B Lawrence Stakes and we think Gentleman Roy($6.50) can continue his outstanding form. Stays at the 1400m Only placed twice at this venue but in great company. Mark Zahra aboard is a huge bonus and is in terrific form himself. Drops 1.5kg’s into this as well. Is adept in all conditions. Fit. Munhamek($5.50) was wide all the way last start and still proved too strong. Has had a jump out just to keep him up around the mark. Loves the track and distance and thrives in most conditions. Will be stalking the pace and be charging late. Pericles($2.50) has had two trials leading into this first up attempt. Loves the 1400m and any surface he races well on. On pace runner but will be sitting just behind the leading duo here. Buffalo River($13) what season he had last prep. Almost claimed his maiden Group 1 against the likes of Mr Brightside and co. Has had 3 800m jumpouts to get him ready for this race. Loves racing here and the 1400m is ideal. Will be in front for a long way. If he gets it easy enough might be lights out. Aegon($16) placed in this race last year and his NZ jumpouts were sound. Loves the track and distance and if the rain comes he’s even better suited. Cracking day here on the Goldy with plenty of good races on offer in all three states. Looks like value today so remember to bet smartly and you should come out with something.
