SR6 H8 BIRTH OF VENUS($5.50); Won well last start to break through for first Australian win. We think she can go on with the job here. She remains in the same class only carries 2kgs more and with the advantage with the inside barrier they can choose there postion, probably sitting midfield. Never raced at randwick before but we think it will be suited here. Loves the distance and with Avdulla aboard he will give it a sweet ride and pounce on the lead with 100m to go.
BIRTH OF VENUS($4.40); 4th beaten 3.1L, had a good run on the fence behind the leaders, ran ok for 4th not convinced she is real genuine though.
MR8 H4 HUMMA HUMMA($5.50); Having her first start in 13 weeks no trial but would have done some work no doubt. First up stats are great (4 goes 3 wins). Loves the track and distance and with the speed drawn inside her and outside with the likes of Jungle edge and Bons away she can get a sit in behind the leading bunch and pounce on the lead with 100m to go. There is suppose to be some rain in Melbourne today, so if it does go to soft this mare should handle it being out of Denman. Her runs on soft tracks have not been terrible. One was up the staright which she didn’t handle. The other was in a group 2 at Morphetiville only beaten 1.6lengths after jumping awkwardly. Huge chance and she is Our Best.
HUMMA HUMMA($4.60); 5th beaten 1.4L, got well back ran on well but track might have been too wet by then, considering one of the best mud larks Jungle Edge was successful. We will be backing up on her next start.
BR H7 FEMME FIREBALL($5.50); Great first up run when steaming home from the back. Second up today (3 goes 2 wins) and from barrier 2 expecting her to be sitting about midfield. The pace should be pretty fast so tempo shouldnt be an issue. Likes the track and distance. Good tracks suits. Looks her chance to return to the winners stall.
FEMME FITREBALL($4.80); 3rd/$170 place beaten 3L, she had a great run behind tearaway leader Misahani El Lobo but the race turned into a procession. She will win soon.
SR9 H6 DAWN DAWN($9.50); Had a great prep before a spell and is a proven first up perfromer. Has had two trials leading to this race. He ran third in the Group 3 Hay Now Stakes at Caulfield. So coming back to a benchmark 88 with 57kgs looks ideal. Likes to sit miefield so hopefully he can get a nice trail in behind the leading group and be steaming home. Loves the track and distance and good tracks suit. Great chance.
DAWN DAWN($9.50); 2nd/$3.20 place beaten 0.4L, in our opinion should have won, no luck from the get go only got clear at the distance and flew home. She goes just as good second up.
MR9 H4 POWER DREAM($10); Racing really consistantly this prep. The form around her is great and she has a claim again which drops her to 53.5kgs. Only up 1 kg from last start and a nice little freshen up. Loves the track and distance. She handles good and Soft tracks and she can lead or take a sit in behind the leaders. Huge Chance at good odds.
POWER DREAM; LATE SCRATCHING
There is some good racing on this weekend with a few group races and the return of some group 1 horses. The first race I would like to talk about is race 4 Brisbane. We have Our Mantra on top here. But we think Lota Creek Gold($21) can run a huge race at odds. His first up runs are good but his second and third up runs he doesn’t do anything. He has had 6 goes 2nd up and 4 goes 3rd up for one placing then his 4th run and beyond he hits his straps. Forget his two runs at this track as they were both 2nd and 3rd up runs and he steps up to the 1800m 4th up. He can jump well and get a nice sit in behind the leaders and the good track suits as well. Huge Chance. Race 9 at Brisbane we think Take Tea has been trained differently this time around. We were expecting it to be up on speed last start. But he was ridden well back and charging from the back to finish 4th only beaten 1.35 lengths. Stepping out the 1400m the first time but looks to be wanting the extra distance. Drops 2 kgs from last start to 57kg and we are expecting a huge run from this filly. Race 7 at Randwick sees some group 1 horses return and Alizee is the one to beat but Kolding will be steaming home and Irthea will be giving them something to chase. Race 7 at Caulfield and some other group 1 horses return. We think Super Seth and Dalasan will be hard to beat. But Free Of Debt might be charging at the 100m to make it interesting. Rain is forecast For Melbounre today so just keep that in mind, but we have gone through our selections with a fine tooth comb to make sure the horses we have selected handle the conditions if the track is downgraded. Great days racing today, looking forward to next week where the Group 1 C.F.ORR stakes at Caulfield will be the highlight. Bring it on !. On that exciting note have a great day. POST RACE SUMMARY; lots of favoured runners successful on Saturday around the $2.20 to $5 mark with only 4 horses successful at $10 or better through the 3 states, which is how results should pan out in the real world (: We had 22 winners in our top 4 selections(7 on top) best being Mildred($13) and Roheryn($10) so success for multi runner players. Plenty of exotics First4 x 3, Trifectas x 10, Quinella/Exactas x 13 and 2 Early Quaddies not massive divis this week due to favoured runners and small fields. The track at Caulfield by race 8 had become very rain affected and the old boy Jungle Edge proved once again what a legendary wet track horse he really is. Super Seth($5.50) did the right thing by subscribers and Facebook followers when he beat Free Of Debt and Dalasan to bring up the Trifecta for us as well. Take Tea had her chance at the distance but there is a race there for her but we would need to be getting decent odds next start to support her. That goes for all horses we suggest to follow up on otherwise it can become a pointless exercise if the odds shrink substantially next time out.
