BR7 H13 HATCHET($5) Chased hard but leader was too strong last start. Dropping in weight again and stepping back out to the 1350m is ideal. Begins well so should be up near the pace from 10. Is adept in all conditions. Hopefully can break through today.
HATCHET($); 8th beaten 3.45L, sat 3 wide in 5th never got into the race at all.
SR9 H8 JOJOWASAMAN($12) Had a great last prep. He is resuming here off two trials and is great first up. Likes the distance and will go forward from the gate and hopefully gets a good trail in behind the leaders. Was good in Stakes company last prep so the benchmark 88 won’t be a problem. Adept in all conditions. Great chance at a good price.
JOJO WAS A MAN($); 13th beaten 8.73L, my synopsis on this race is he had an opportunity to get 1 out 1 back in 3rd spot. Didn’t take it so sat 3 deep no cover in 5th place entire. Nothing to give when asked.
MR5 H3 ADELE AMOUR($6) Taken a few runs this prep to get fit. Last run at Flemington was a beauty steaming home over the 14oom. All career wins have come at the 1400m and is peaking at the right time 4th up. If she produces the run of last start here, she will be super tough to beat. Huge chance.
ADELE AMOUR($); 7th beaten 5.25L, badly checked at the `150m mark.
MR8 H6 SCISSOR STEP($7) Won well last start when holding off late challengers. Loves the distance and is adept in all conditions. Is good second up. Will go forward from the gate and prove hard to run down again. Has a good record in Handicap races.
SCISSOR STEP($); 4th beaten 3.7L, got back this time ran on okay.
SUMMARY: A couple of placings in Our Best last week a great day all round with plenty of winners and exotics to boot. Hopefully we can get a couple of winners in Our Best this week. Lets dive straight into the action with the Hunter and we think Apache Chase($7.50) can get the prize here. Ran well from the back last start. Stepping out to the 1300m is ideal. Will go forward from the gate and could take some catching if leads. In The Congo($4.80) was pressured for a long way last start so no wonder he faded. He has barrier 2 today will roll forward again and dropping in distance suits. Gem Song’s($16) first up run was great when kept chasing and was good through the line. Stepping out to the 1300m is ideal and loves the track and distance. Will sit midfield and will be steaming home. Vilana($5) didn’t get much luck last start. Held up and was widest runner in the straight. Better gate here and will most likely be midfield and will be charging late. Gravina($17) ran well down the straight at Flemington last start. Will be up near pace from barrier has good track and distance from. Can run into the top 4. Off the Cranbourne Cup and we think Uncle Bryn($3.30) can win here.ran well in the Five Diamonds last start. Dropping back to the 1600m is ideal. Adept in all conditions and will be steaming home from midfield. Callsign Mav($12) had some breathing problems last start. He is too good not to include and hopefully he can bounce back to his best dropping back to Listed grade. Visinari($4.20) sat wide the entire trip last start so unlucky there. Dropping back 1600m and back to a good track suits. Will be up on speed and very hard to run down. Dropping 4.5kgs as well. Ironclad($9) worked home well last start over the 1400m. Steps out to the 1600m second up is ideal. Loves a good track. Will be midfield from the gate and steaming home nicely. Just like to mention the COLONEL REEVES STAKES(G3) at Ascot and Miss Conteki($4) has insane stats at track and distance and can race anywhere from up front to back in the pack. She will be steaming home over the top of them in the final strides. Cracking days racing today and we will be looking to the west over the next 6 weeks with their carnival about to swing into full gear.
