BR11 H3 LADY LAGUNA($2.90) A good winner at Doomben 2nd up over the 1200m. Is third up today and the extra 100m suits. J Mac aboard is a bonus and is adept in all conditions. Will be just behind the speed here and with even luck should be in the finish.
LADY LAGUNA($3.10): FIRST GIDDYUP!!
SR7 H12 NAVAL COLLEGE($2.70) Won impressively over this trip last start when 4th the fence. With another great draw can see it just behind the speed again or even lead if need be. Track and distance ideal and third up. Is adept in all conditions. Only carries 53kgs and is a stayer on the up.
NAVAL COLLEGE($3): FIRST GIDDYUP!!
MR10 H1 JUNGLE JIM($4.60)Been racing well in tougher grade with last start only going down final 50m after doing some work early. Dropping in grade and only carrying 59 after the claim is ideal. Is good 4th up and track and distance suits. This is his time to win a race.
JUNGLE JIM($4.60- $2.60): FIRST GIDDYUP!!
SUMMARY: Before we left for a let up we were successful in Our Best With Robusto getting the win at 12 bucks. It was definitely a very merry Christmas indeed lol. We are glad to be back and ready to fire on all cylinders. Lets Dive straight into the Magic Millions 2YO race and we think Storm Boy($2.30) will win. Been super impressive winning his first two race starts. Jumped awkwardly last start which we hope doesn’t happen on Saturday because he might find it hard to lead. But if he jumps well will be hard to run down! Spywire($5.50) has been impressive in his first three starts to date. Didn’t handle Wyong two back, won easily last week at the Goldy. Will be handy from the wide draw. The 1200m will suit. Wolfgang($19) has won two of three his only fail was up the straight and looked a bit lost which 2YO’s can do. Won last two on wet ground. With the showers that are forecast he comes right into contention here also winning over 1200m. Will sit behind a hot tempo and will be charging late. Arabian Summer($6.50) has been in terrific form and is adept in all conditions and the 1200m will suit. Her time she ran last start was excellent running her last 600m in 33.5 seconds. Won by 2.3lengths. Will sit behind the speed here will be charging late with her turn of hoof. A great race but only bad luck will throw up a surprised result here in our opinion. Off to the The 3YO Guineas and Cifrado($6) finally stepped up in trip last start and won well with no luck for most of the race, 1400m is his optimal distance and track suits. Is adept in all condition and will be charging home! Royal Tribute($10) last prep took the step up from maiden grade into listed grade and group 2 level and wasn’t disgraced only beaten 2 lengths in both. Won first up in an on paced gritty performance. Will be all the fitter 2nd up and stepping up to the 1400m. Will be leading from the barrier 10 and be hard to run down again. Weigall Tiger($19) stepped out to the 1600m for the first time last start and just didn’t see it out till the end but held on for second. Stepping back to the 1400m is ideal and will sit just behind the speed here with plenty of pace on his inside should get a cart across. Sydney Bowler($6) has won three in a row and was impressive stepping up in grade and bolted in last start. Deserves his chance in this grade and the 1400m will be perfect. Is versatile and can go forward or back so they have options from barrier 17. Tough race. Just like to mention Chinny Boom($7.50) race 4 at the Goldy. With the weights we reckon he can beat Rothfire($3.10) but in saying that if Rothfire gets an easy lead will be hard to run down. Huge fields at Goldy so plenty of value to be had and the fields down south aren’t the greatest so just be mindful of track bias through out the day. Hopefully we have a field day today and fill the coffers to start the new year right! Hope everyone had a cracking Christmas and a great New years.
