SR6 H3 WU GOK($6); this horse is a heavy track pistolero and we feel he will be close to the lead or even take it up. Relishes track and distance and if he gets the heavy track we think the opposition will struggle big time to catch him. 

WU GOK($5); 9th beaten 7.75L, great run in 3rd on the fence, had conditions to suit. Over the top.

BR7 H5 EMERALD KINGDOM($3.50); had this horse as a best bet last week in this race (abandoned due to weather) we see no reason to change our opinion.

EMERALD KINGDOM($2.30); FIRST, shot away in the straight held on to win by a neck, shorter price than we usually like but looked a good thing and didn’t let us down.

SR9 H13 SURREAL STEP($4.80); perfect draw here as he does best when up on the speed, he is another that relishes the wet conditions. The distance is no problem and has won 2nd up if he gets to take it up even better. GIDDYUP!! 

SURREAL STEP($4); 6th beaten 6.25L, led into straight did nothing when challenged. Not good enough today.

BR10 H7 ROYAL HALE($11); this is a tough race hence the good price about his horse. Although up 3.5kegs here it wont matter as the main chances are as well. He likes to race just off the pace, track and distance good and if the storms come mid afternoon the real wet conditions will suit even more being by Snitzel. BIG CHANCE.

ROYAL HALE($13); 5th beaten 4,25L, great run in transit we were feeling pretty good with ourselves on the corner but he only battled to the line.

SUMMARY; the track rating at Randwick last Saturday at the start of proceedings was way off to say the least, I see on certain results pages they have the track marked a soft5 to start proceedings all I saw was a good4. I think they are fudging the 8 ball methinks. Great racing today at Flemington undoubtedly the best race day on the planet. The Victoria Derby and Albarado ($6) is a died in the wool stayer his last start he ground his way to victory he is our clear top pick Cherry Tortoni for second and Young Werther a good 3rd. The Coolmore G1 and September Run is a very smart filly and she can reel off a fast last 600m she should possie up behind the speed and zoom home over them. Swat’s That is also smart and the colt Farnan will show his true colours today. The Golden Eagle and Aligator Blood($7) originally we were disappointed with his draw but the track being heavy will play into his hands. We think he will out muscle the mares Collette, Riodini and Funstar. This horse has only dropped out of favor because he was only placed at his first 2 runs back the expectations of these horses to win every start is unrealistic and he will be as fit as a fiddle today. Remember Eduardo($7.50) is an absolute mudder. Cracking days racing and we certainly found it tough to come up with our best bets but think we may have found 1 or 2. Melbourne Cup Tuesday and at this stage my top 3 are Prince Of Arran, Finche and Andrew Van Dyk but it is a pretty good field this year so bring it on.
