BR6 H3 LANGHRO($10); in the real world this galloper should lead from his good gate (1) fresh, this circuit should suit him and he has a good third to Just Hifalutin at Flemington(fav that day} in his last prep after leading to the shadows down the straight. Trial winner is a bonus he will be there when the whips are cracking. GIDDYUP!!!
LANGHRO($6.80); FIRST, exploded away in the straight, too good. GOUGUDTHING!!!
HANDSOME THIEF($6); He has a great record over this distance and as he likes to settle midfield there is enough pace in this race to ensure he can finish off. At the distance he will be coming hard. He is OUR BEST.
HANDSOME THIEF($8); 3rd/$2.50 beaten 0.8L, hung up for a while in the straight ran on well when totally clear, good run.
MR9 H3 MASCULINO($6.50); this horse is racing as well as ever and he meets Inverloch 3kilos better here. He has a few things in his favour here, he handles all track conditions, likes the track and distance but above all he can put himself right on the pace from his good gate. Lets hope his postillion does him justice. SUPER hard to beat.
MASCULINO($8); 8th beaten 6.5L, settled back this time and held up into the straight not ideal at The Valley. Probably entitled to do a little more than he did though.
BR5 H18 CHILL THE BEER($13); will settle just off the pace here and definitely suited by the firm track. He has a decent record and is nicely weighted here on 54kgs. There is quite a bit of pace in this race and that should play into his hooves(: big time he will be finishing over the top of them.
CHILL THE BEER($9.50); 6th beaten 4.5L, sat wide entire trip, nothing to offer in the straight.
Another cracking day here in Queensland and the Gold Coast track should be very slick indeed. Group 1 Winx stakes I think Avilius($3.40) can salute here a very good racehorse with an outstanding fresh record and is unbeaten at Randwick, Happy Clapper($4.20) and Verry Elleegant($3.90) to fill the minors. Silver Shadow stakes Group 2 Tenley($5), this filly has a dislike for wet tracks unbeaten on good tracks and she has a great win over Exilerates over 1200m here in very slick time 1.08.3 we think she can beat the odds on favourite Libertini at $1.85. Lucicello($5) in the Up and Coming, he was virtually given no chance last start to succeed and ran a great 3rd we think he is a huge chance in this race. Highway handicap another lottery, we have So Magnifique($18) on top in this he performs second up and has a distinct dislike for soft tracks, from gate 1 will be right on the pace so if you must play this race he just might be the one. Just be wary this time of year as a fit racehorse can win races that normally would be out of their league with the better gallopers resuming. There are some really good horses around this year so the SPRING RACING should be hot. On that note have a great weekend and above all ” ENJOY YOUR RACING” and “GOOD LUCK” to all from HORSEBUCK$
POST RACE SUMMARY; We thought the Gold Coast was OUR BEST value venue for the day and so it proved when LANGHRO($10 – $6.50) race 6, was always in control and he bolted in GOUGUDTHING!!! and also Handsome Thief ran a great 3rd/$ 2.50 a place hung up in the straight he finished off nicely for a good 3rd definite follow up on this horse and our other runner Chill The Beer($9.50) ran unplaced but was trapped wide the entire trip, a winning day HAPPY DAYS!!! Along with 13 winners(for multi runner players) down on our usual number but we did have 10 seconds in the other events 6 in photo finishes but that’s racing. We also had some nice placegetters as well with the best being My Xpression at 100/1 paying $21 a place now this is definitely a horse we can follow from the Waller stable, he is a group horse from N.Z. and he finished powerfully from a long way back, he just might win a decent race at odds. Lots of great runs on Saturday with some of the stars just out for a warm up and as we said in our pre race summary fit horses this time of the year will win against the better horses because of the fitness edge. But it certainly was HAPPY DAYS in OUR BEST again and we pride ourselves on our incredible consistency in this section. Striving for value every week is a tough gig but one that we relish, we regard ourselves as the best around. Spring racing is the MECCA of all racing and a great time of the year with VALUE everywhere so good luck to all punters over this period.
