Doomben Track Good; Randwick Track Good; Flemington Track Good; Our Best; Randwick race 8 Dixie Blossoms($3.50) very consistent mare that has a very good fresh record, track and distance and is not badly in here under set weights and penalties. She will settle just off the speed and will be looming large at the distance. Doomben race 9 Hanwritten($5) this horse is drawn to get the gun run and with 52kgs after the claim he should be able to skip on the corner. This is a step up in class on his last win but we think he has the ability and racing pattern to overcome that, if he is in front at the distance it could be a case of DONE and DUSTED. Flemington race 9 Barbeque($7) this fellow gets back in the field, this should suit Lane as he tends to ride a lot of Godolphin horses that way. We think he is well in here and if he gets the breaks in the straight he will be super hard to hold out. Doomben race 10 Cornrow(11) has come back in good form and has won third up, relishes this track and distance. He will probably settle just off the speed and is nicely in here after the claim (57.5kgs) his strike rate is not the greatest but as we stated his stats around here are good and as long as there is no rain he should be fighting out the finish. Our Longshot today is in Doomben race 3 My Friend Flicka($41) before scratchings, at her last start she was huge odds against a pretty good BM75 (56.5KGS) finished last but only 6.5L from the winner. Her go is to be up on the speed and from gate 1 we expect her to be right up there, she is in this race very well with 57.5kgs after the claim and has a very good second up record,a good track only though. If she gets the run of the race she will give them something to catch. Our original LONGSHOT selection was Top Striker race 9 Randwick he was scratched so keep an eye out for him he will be going very close at his next start. The horse we think can figure in the Golden Slipper is Satin Slipper($5), she is in today against a pretty good field but we think she can salute. Australian Guineas is a very competeive race as you would expect for a Group 1, there is quite a push for Cliff‘s Edge, they say he can cross and lead and control the race from gate 16, I would have thought that Addictive Nature or Grunt would push up or even Black Sail and hold their positions to make that transition a little more difficult. We know he has more speed than anything in the race, but if you have to work to get there? We certainly haven’t given up on Mighty Boss($13) probably should have won the Orr(w,f.a.) G1 and last start in the G1 Fururity(W.F.A.) went forward and was caught wide on a leader orientated track, weakened to finish 8th 6L from Brave Smash. If this horse gets the right run in the straight he will be finishing all over them. If the rain stays away in Sydney and Brisbane the tracks should be Good, both were rated a soft5 at 5.30 this morning Queensland time. We know there a lot of players out there that like to punt in all races so just tread carefully in a few of the earlier races in each state.
