BR5 H2 SAILOR’S SECRET($12) Ran well last start when only tired late 2nd up. Third up is a pistol and the track and distance is his specialty. From barrier 2 will roll forward and might just give them the short end of the stick coming around the turn. Great each way hope with Jimmy Burns aboard.
SAILORE’S SECRET($12-$6); 8th beaten 4.5L, plenty on to say it could win but did nothing afte a decent run midfield. Prefer it to be on speed.
SR10 H9 ELOUYOU($3.10) Been running against some nice horses and the form around him is pretty good. A drop in grade is ideal and stays at the 1400m. The wide gate won’t bother him as he has enough speed to overcome. It’s his chance to win again.
RACE ABANDONED
MR5 H1 ASHFORD STREET($7.50) Been in terrific form this prep winning once and placing the other. Is good third up and likes the track and loves the distance. From barrier 4 will park behind the speed here and will be chiming in at the 100m. Huge chance.
ASHFORD STREET($7.50-$12); 8th beaten 3.9L, drifted in betting and ran accordingly.
SUMMARY: Hard To Cross($3.80) kept the momentum going in Our Best last week and a couple of forgive runs for the other two. Let’s dive straight into the Eye Liner and we think Blaze A Trail($8.50) can win here. Has a solid first up record and ditto for the distance. Had has had one go at the track for a placing in a Listed race. Looks ready to go after a couple of trials. Jigsaw($4.80) has been scratched from everywhere over the last couple of months only racing twice in that period. Just needs to settle over the 1350m. The tough gate is a bit of a query but just needs to jump with them. If he can lead he might be able to hold off the late challengers. Wategos($2.40) was a tad unlucky last start when held up at a vital stage. Dropping back to the 1350m is ideal. Will sit just behind leaders here from barrier 1 and with a bit of luck will be fighting out the finish. Fancify($5.50) deserves her shot at this grade. Will go forward from the gate maybe take a sit in behind the leaders. Is unbeaten at the distance. And the 53kgs is a huge bonus! Ipswich Cup isn’t a very strong race but we have gone the way of Nikau Spur($13) on top. Was good two back when running third against Gringotts and Knights Choice. Too far back last start but finally gets out to the 2150m will get back from the gate and will be charging home.
