BR7 H3 GET STUCK IN($4.20); Great tough win last start when caught wide early and doing work to get to the front. I can see him getting a nice run in behind the leading group with pace to be strong with a few leaders in this race. Drops 1kg from last start. Nothdurft on board is a bonus. Loves the track and distance. Third up and better is when he really hits his straps. The whips will be cracking at the 100m.
GET STUCK IN($6); 10th beaten 13.5L), not mentioned in stewards report but this horse sat 3 wide no cover entire trip nothing left in the straight.
BR8 H2 WINNING WAYS($3.40); I will keep it simple here, she is a Group 1 winning mare, 3rd up she should race a little closer to the pace over this distance. She should be too good.
WINNING WAYS($4.70); FIRST GIDDYUP!!!, got out to $5 in some markets sat up closer in the run under her 59kgs too good, will win again.
MR5 H2 HUNTLY CASTLE($8.50); He had a great first prep everytime he stepped out in distance he got better. He won at this track distance last prep by 2 lengths so the step up to the 1800m is ideal. First up run was good doing his best work late beaten 2.6 lengths. From barrier 4 he should get a sit in behind the leading group and peeling around them coming to the corner and be steaming home. Huge chance.
HUNTLY CASTLE($10); 3RD $3.40/place beaten 2.4L, ran home nicely, we hope he is Derby bound.
MR9 H10 PRESENTLY($31); We are very interested in this filly, she ran well every start in town before her spell, taken to Sale for an easy maiden win first up. She will race handy here from the good draw and the distance won’t be an issue, up in grade but we expect her to handle the rise. This is a very open race regardless of the short priced favourite hence the great price.
PRESENTLY($31); 12th beaten 7.1L, never a chance, got this one wrong.
SR9 H8 HANDLE THE TRUTH($6.50); This horse is a pistol first up and loves the trip. He has been trialling the house down and loves to be on the speed, nicely weighted here after the claim (53kgs) we expect him to be fighting out the finish. This is a decent field so we might get a better price. GIDDYUP!!!
HANDLE THE TRUTH($4); 5th beaten 1.3L, beautiful ride and great run behind leader pushed up on the fence leader rolled in and stifled him. NEXT TIME!!!
Great racing today in Sydney and Melbourne in the Group 1 Epsom we fancy Fifty Stars it is his 4th run back in after 3 WFA runs he will be peaking here. He ran unplaced in Brutal’s Doncaster(50kgs) but he did sit 3wide no cover right up on the speed, Dreamforce even from his hideous gate will be super hard to run down and Cascadian is on the improve 3rd run back. Group 1 Metrop. I fancy Stampede($8.50) to lead all the way but my colleague thinks Gallic Chieftain($16) can get home over the top of him in a very even race. Group 1 Turnbull Hartnell($11) this horse is peaking nicely for the Caulfield Cup(I.M.O.) but under the SW+P here he is in this race right up to his eyeballs. Once again we have to deal with the rail being out at major meetings Randwick out 3M and Flemington is out a ridiculous 9M what the!!!! and lets not forget Eagle Farm out a ludicrous 10M what is going on there. Then they say the rail is off LOL. As you can see I am not a fan of the rail “movement” especially at major meetings I think it is a cop out and an easy fix. But we will work around that and still come up with the goods. Winning Ways ($4.70) was a great result for OUR BEST with a strong win and Huntley Castle a good 3rd/$3.40 place we are glad he is heading towards the Derby. Handle The Truth($4) 5th was certainly very unlucky next time for him. We also had 2 First 4’s, 6 Trifecta’s and 8 Quinella/Exacta’s not big divis but results nonetheless along with 15 winners in our top 4 selections for multi runner players and 7 on top successful. Three photo finish seconds in the Group 1’s Gallic Chieftan, Te Akau Shark and Niche but that’s racing. We hope to be doing the “ALLIGATOR SHUFFLE” after the Guineas on Saturday if Alligator Blood is triumphant, he has been our Guineas horse all the way through, he has come up with gate 13 probably come in a couple after scratchings. He is such an adaptable racehorse with a big ticker and if he gets to them at the distance he will be tough to run down.
