SR7 H13 Special Missile $7; this gelding is ultra consistent this time in without winning. The 1500m is his go and is drawn (2) to get a gun run, likes the track an handles all conditions. Is today the day, we think so.
Special Missile; Beaten 2.5l after leading fought on until the 100m ran well to finish 3rd. Got out to $11 back into start at $8.
BR9 H6 Chapter And Verse $6; his usual pattern is to get well back early and be up behind the leaders on the corner , where he needs a little luck. Hopefully Byrnes can scout him wide as they swing and have a full head of steam on straightening, if so they will know he is there at the finish.
Chapter And Verse; Beaten 1.5L 2nd after a classic ride by J. Byrnes, looked certain to score until Elvis entered the building. No excuses started at $4.20 in from $6
SR8 H7 Goodfella $13; invariably does nothing first up, but his first up run was pretty good and should have finished closer. He meets a lot of the same horses here a little better at the weights, he does his best racing when closer to the speed and relishes this distance, if he is chiming in at the distance it just might be game, set and match.
Goodfella; beaten 3.7l in 11th place, certainly not over enthused about the ride on this horse thought he had a soft run. Got out to $19 back in a fraction to start at $16
Twelve winners in our first four selections with 8 on top winners the best being IRISH OPTIMIST at $15. Once again the best bets delivered 2 placegetters BOTH HAD THEIR CHANCE. a smattering of exotics a first four, 3 trifectas and 7 quinellas, not a great day out for us by our lofty standards depending on how you play the multis and the exotics of course, all results are available on our web site www.horsebucks.com.au. Thought we had the main quaddie in Brisbane all parcelled up when the Byrnster shot Chapter And Verse well clear at the top of the straight only to be run down. Next Saturday is a big one for us here at Horsebuck$ as my colleague (and son) is having his Bucks turnout at the races on the lawn (where else!) before taking the final plunge a week later, so lets hope we all come home a big winner to top off proceedings. Any Horsebuck$ followers going to the Gold Coast races on Saturday come say hello to us (you will know who we are as we will be cheering for the same horses as you). Doomben Track Good; Rosehill Track Good; Caulfield Track Good; we are having a great run with our exotcs and just missing with our best bets with some exasperating seconds, that tends to come with the territory when searching for value. Race 9 at Caulfield is a super tough race with 5 realistic chances Ozi Choice, Theanswermyfriend, Malaise, Barthelona and Call Me Handsome, there is some pace in this race with 3 of the aforementioed likely to be right on the speed. I tend to think that Malaise($9) will get a pretty good run here and although he meets the 3 he beat home last start 1.5kgs worse he just might be going a little better so Malaise for me, my colleague tends to think that Ozi Choice will be ridden from behind here and finish over them, so it was a split decision, I will be having a wager on Malaise and Exacta with Ozi Choice.. An absolute belter of a day here in Queensland on that note “GOOD LUCK” to all players.
