BR8 H13 SAFEWORK($7) Been racing well this prep and in tougher races than this and with form against Uncommon James who won at Caulfield and Goldsborough. Was only beaten 2 lengths last start when inconvenienced early. Stepping back out to the 1350m and back to Doomben is ideal. Drops 4.5kgs from last start and from barrier 6 should be handy enough from there hopefully midfield. The whips will be cracking at the 100m ! Huge chance.
SAFEWORK($5); 2nd/$1.80 place beaten 0.75L, wide all the way ran well considering.
BR9 H3 DESERT DREAMER($5) Ran on well to win last start. Gets a 3 kilo claim which drops him to 58kgs. Loves the track and distance and is good second up. Should be right on speed from barrier 3 probably just behind the leaders. But can lead if need be. Will be tough to beat once again.
Desert Dreamer($3.10); 4th beaten 2.85L, great ride until in the straight when probably should have gone for the inside run.
SR6 H7 TOOMUCHTOBEAR($7) Travelling along nicely this prep and is ready to win here 3rd up (2from2). Ran home strongly in the Winter Challenge last start. From barrier 8 should be closer to the speed but might need to take a sit. Loves the track and distance and loves soft and good tracks. If its not leader biased he will be steaming home !
TOOMUCHTOBEAR($6); 6th beaten 1.81L, every chance .
MR6 H6 MAYFAIRSPIRIT($4.20) Ran on strongly last start despite sitting wide the entire trip. He’s third up today stepping out to the mile which is ideal. He has had a couple of unlucky runs on heavy tracks over the years back overseas and in Australia. Has placed on heavy track before so don’t think that will be an issue. From barrier 7 should be midfield and with Jamie kah aboard is a bonus ! Huge chance !
MAYFAIR SPIRIT($4); FIRST GIDDYUP!!! in behind the speed edged out as they turned and proved too strong.
SUMMARY: What an absolute cracking day last week with a host of winners in our top 4 and Tokoriki Lad won for OUR BEST at 10 bucks and Legal Esprit almost made two in that department but was pipped on the post. Group 1 racing returns and we are super pumped so lets dive straight in and talk about the Winx Stakes and we think Mo’unga($5) can get the prize here first up. He has had a couple of trials leading into this so should be ready to go first up. Has won this race before and the drying track should suit, if it gets to good he will be steaming home! Loves the track and distance. Anamoe($2.62) is a top class horse. Has bigger races on the menu this spring campaign but will be in the finish. Not as good first up but from the inside draw can dictate where to sit. Loves the track and distance. Fangirl($7) 1st up here and has had a couple of trials leading into this. Loves the track and distance. Will be midfield and if they go to hard out in front she will be steaming home. Hinged($13) can run a race here. Unbeaten over the 1400m and likes the track. Depends on what tactics are told to the stewards she can be ridden forward or she can take a sit either way will be running home well. Off to Melbourne for the Carlyon Stakes and Extremely Lucky($2.75) won impressively last start when charged home at a rate of knots. Was unlucky last prep in a group 2 race so has potential to be a good horse. Will get back from the gate and the wet track wont be a problem. Will be steaming home! Esta La Rocka($10) is an absolute mudder so will enjoy the conditions. Is great first up and has been wintering up in the QLD sunshine. Loves the track and distance and will be up on pace even might lead here from the good gate. Mileva third up today and back to the 1000m is ideal doesn’t get passed 1100m. From barrier 2 will go forward and be right on the speed here. Loves the track and distance. Bella Nipatina has had a trial win leading into this first up attempt. Will be back in the pack doesn’t win over this trip but is definitely a place chance here today with the amount of scratchings in the race. What an absolute cracking days racing we have today with plenty of action across all three states with a host of group 1 performers back in action for their spring campaign! As you can tell we are super pumped lol.
