BR7 H1 BENEGIL($3.50) Was too good in the Australasian Oaks. Two starts ago was beaten by a very good horse in Treasure The Moment in the Vinery. Will get back from the wide gate so no concern there. The form around her is exceptional and is adept in all conditions. The one to beat.
BENAGIL($3.60); 10th beaten 6.9L, got a mile back and did nothing. No excuses, a poor run.
SR7 H8 ZAPHOD($4) Cracking run first up in stronger company. Drops back in grade here and steps up to the 2000m is ideal. Is an absolute swimmer and loves the slop. All things point to a second up win here.
ZAPHOD($3.30); 7th beaten 24.8L, totally forget this horse went around. The track was abyssmal
SUMMARY: Again just missed in Our Best last week with Pounding just missing at an insane price. Let’s hope to go one better today. Lets dive straight into the Doomben Cup and Antino ($3.30) bolted in last start in the Hollindale. Back onto a dry track is no concern here. The pace should be fast with the likes of Pride Of Jenni. Barrier 11 no concern as it drifts back anyway. Fully expect him to be chiming in at the top of the straight. Fawkner Park ($8.50) was a big run last start. Back on to a dryer track will suit this galloper. Back out to the 2000m is ideal. Will sit back from barrier 9 and will be steaming home. Pride Of Jenni ($3.70) well we all know her tactics. She seemed a little flat winning last start against weaker opposition. She would need to be at the top of her game to win but in good form. Kovalica ($8) was good after a month freshen when 3rd in the Hollindale. Another galloper who will appreciate the dryer surface here. The step out to the 2000m is ideal. Will be just off midfield here and will be steaming home. Miss Joelene ($51) was left flat footed when 4th in the Hollindale but stuck on nicely on a bog track. A drying track suits this galloper and I think they won’t be left flat footed here. If things go pear shaped for the favoured runners she might be the one to cause an upset. An absolute cracking days racing with a bog track in Sydney, might be some value there.
