OUR BEST
SR9 H1 DRAGONSTONE($6) Saluted well with the big weight last start after two good runs against the likes of I am Me and Bella Nipotina. Loves the track and distance, drops 2kgs into this. If he holds his form he’s the one to beat.
DRAGONSTONE($5); 2nd/$1.80 place beaten 0.5L, very good ride sat behind the speed got away at the distance to be run down late. Weight difference told the tale here.
SR10 H4 IRONMAN($7) Been racing ultra consistently of late. Last start sat wide the entire trip and still ran second. 2 weeks bewtween runs is ideal. Loves the track and distance. From barrier 2 should be able to find a position one out one back. Should be steaming home and the whips will be cracking!
IRON MAN($9); 3rd/$3.20 place beaten 1.9L, also a cracking ride and every chance.
MR6 H4 NATION’S CALL($4.20) Great start to the prep. Finally steps out the 2000m, and is third up(2from2). Has the good draw of 5 and loves to lead so will expect it to be leading here. Blake Shinn on is a bonus. Will be tough to run down.
NATION’S CALL($); 6th beaten 6L, not so good sat 3 wide early over raced then rider surged forward and sat outside thye leader. He usually likes to dictate.
SUMMARY: Unlucky in Our Best last week with Arran Bay just missing. Plenty of winners in our top 4 and plenty of exotics as well. Let’s dive straight into the Meteorite MR8 and we think Ray Magnerio($5.50) can win again. Kept him at 1200m a nice freshen up of a month. Will sit just of the pace here from barrier 4. Loves a good track. Can see him hitting the line hard here with some nice speed in the race. Baraqiel($3) good run in the champions Sprint(G1). Back in grade here is ideal will most likely take a sit in behind the leading duo. Loves the distance and would be surprised if not in the finish. Arkansaw Kid($7.50) a bit too far back last start in the Sydney Stakes(G3) and on a soft track was never in it. Loves the distance. Doubt he will be back that far this time round . Should be able to possy up just behind the leading bunch, will be strong late. Spacewalk($16) left a sitting duck second up when wide. Was good steaming home latest over the 1000m. The step back up to 1200m is ideal and around a bend we think will suit. Will be out the back but races best that way and will be steaming home. Robrick($15) is a sneaky in this race has just missed in both runs to date this prep. His run last start was a cracker. We think the bend will suit him got a little lost at some stages down the straight. Will be steaming home. The Railway Stakes(G1) and we think the fav is a bit vulnerable here. Didn’t beat much last start this is a bit harder. J Mac on is a bonus but he will need a career best performance here. Belclare($5.50) will go forward from the wide draw has been in terrific form and should race accordingly again. Democracy Manifest($18) is a bit of overs here. Has been racing in Good company and will run well again. Casino Seventeen($18) was a good win first up. Should get the same run in transit again and be steaming home. Socks Nation($19) run last start was a cracker. Would suggest she will go forward from the gate. Hopefully can get a nice spot if so will be hard to beat. We will be having a two week break so Saturdays the 28th of December and the 4th of January there will be no selections. So we will be back for the Magic Millions race day on the 11th January.
