MR4 H1 JIGSAW($4.20): first up today and we would assume(although you never should in this business) he will lead here. He certainly likes the track and distance and even with his 61kegs just might run them off their legs.
JIGSAW($5.50): 6th beaten 2.2l, sat outside the leader with 61kegs mmmh! but it was a pretty good run for next time.
SR6 H4 RED CARD($3): good mare certainly up to this level with only 55kgs. She does her best racing fresh and relishes the track and distance. Great gate to be right on the speed, ticks a lot of boxes.
RED CARD($3.20): FIRST GIDDYUP!!! straight to the front game over.
MR3 H2 CORONATION KEITH($15): his 2 runs after a spell have been quite good really. He has a very good Tasmanian form where he showed a preference to be on th speed. Likes the journey and fit now 3rd up.
CORONATION KEITH($13): 7th beaten 5.9L, beaten before the turn did nothing.
BR8 H1 SPIN DOCTOR($8.50): has potential this horse and likes to race fresh. He will drift back off them and he gets home hard. Likes the track and the distance no issue, we expect him to be throttling home at juicy odds.
SPIN DOCTOR($12): 5th beaten 5.2L, was doing nothing until the last 50m then ran home nicely. Strange run so hopefully a decent price next start.
SUMMARY: Last week was a mixed bag to say the least and quite a few gallopers were having a look readying for something bigger. We duly noted!! The Group1 Coolmore for F&M is a fantastic race chock full of in form gallopers. We found it hard to split Revolutionary Miss($15) who is in sensational form albeit it in lesser class but she does have a touch of class herself. She will probably settle just behind the speed here. She is Group1 placed and has won 5 times in lower Group races ,run well. The other is Zougotcha($4) perfect draw(2) for this genuine Group mare as she likes to be on the speed. JMAC will be primed for another big one today. Both these mares like soft conditions. Tropical Squall($7.50) is good but she will need all the skill from Tim Clark to get the lead from gate 17. If she gets there without too much fuss WILL BE super hard to run down. Hinged($26) is an interesting runner as she does race best fresh and 2nd up her go. Track and distance record not great but 2nd up and a wet track are the key with her. Rounding out our top 5 is Renaissance Woman($34) good 2nd up she does tend to get back but will she be today from 5 very intriguing runner indeed! Everyone seems to be saying MrBrightside($1.85) is drawn wide and might need some luck. Maybe but he can settle anywhere in the run and is certainly fitter now. The good ones seem to find a way. A lot of toe in this race with Buffalo River($41) and Pride Of Jenni($3.90) no slouches and hard to run down. Cascadian($10) might just be the one steaming home late. Kiwi Desert Lightning($23) good horse and rounds out our top 5. If Mr. Brightside was not in the race then it would be a very open race indeed obviously. We were disappointed in one of our greatest hoops last week and thats all we have to say about that. Four in Our Best this week with some nice value. But it ain’t easy and no sugar coating from us.
