BR7 H3 NATIONAL CHOICE($4) Only just missed last start over the 1350m. Will be in the leading bunch from barrier 1 and loves the track and distance. M Rodd aboard is a huge bonus. Looks the goods.
NATIONAL CHOICE($3.30); FIRST GIDDYUP!!! great run behind the speed on the fence. Got the split to edge clear late.
BR10 H1 PARTY FOR TWO($3.50) Won impressively first up when all the way leader. Is second up today stays at the 1000m and loves the track. Smart claim brings her down to 58kgs and from barrier 9 will go forward. If can get to the lead or park in behind with luck will be hard to beat.
PARTY FOR TWO($3); 2nd/$1.40 place beaten 0.1L, 4 wide throughout huge run to just get pipped.
BEST EACHWAY
BR5 H2 OUTBURST($13) Has made good progression with every race and step up in distance this prep. Is 4th up today and the step out to the 1800m is ideal. 3kg claimer brings him down to 57.5kgs. Will be parked behind the speed here from barrier 4 and should be chiming in at the distance. The whips will be cracking.
OUTBURST($); last beaten 9.4L, wide throughtout.
SUMMARY: A tough day last week and a bit unlucky in Our Best but we are hoping to rectify this week with a few good hopes all at the Sunny Coast. Lets dive straight in and talk about the Thousand Guineas and we think Skybird($4.20) can get the win here. Looked like bad luck was going to be her undoing at the Valley but got the split and savaged the line to get up in the final stages. Looks to be a good horse and big track good draw and 1600m suits here. Artic Glamour($9) ran well last start did get a good run in transit and did have a bit of pressure too so could of found him out there. Worth giving another chance over this trip. Joliestar($5) has been in terrific form without winning this prep. After her last run is looking out for 1600m and will sit closer form the good gate. J Mac is a huge bonus. Coeur Volante($4) has been in fine form this prep winning last two. Is crying out for the 1600m also from the good gate will park just behind the leading bunch here and will be charging home. Zourion($14) was wide through out last start and still ran home well. Should be hard to beat over the 1600m and will be getting home. Hard race. Off to the Sir Rupert Clarke and we think Crosshaven($15) can go one better here. Should of won first up when no luck and held up a crucial stages, 2nd up here and out to the 1400m is ideal. Drops 4kgs into this and from the good barrier will be able to find the front or park right in behind. Not a very strong Group 1 race, he can win here. Buffalo River($34) was an impressive all the way leader last start. Gets in light here and loves the 1400m around this circuit. The wide draw is a concern but jumps cleanly and can get across from there. Wrote To Arataki($23) held off all challengers to salute last start. Loves the track and distance and from the wide gate we are sure he will be following Buffalo River across as well. Is adept in all conditions and Dean Yendell aboard is a bonus. Magic Time($5) was always wide in the Invatation last start against Espiona. It was a gut buster but the 3 weeks off would have done her the world of good. Think from the wide gate she will be able to get a sit midfield with the pace up front. Nice weight drop into this also and loves the distance. Will be steaming home. I am Me($7.50) ran second to the champ Imperatriz last start savaging the line at Moonee Valley. Her only start over 1400m was the 16th of October 2021 and on that day sat wide the entire way. A lot has changed since then and she has matured nicely and the step out to the 1400m is ideal judging by last run. She will be midfield and can rattle of fast a last 600m. Would just like to mention She Dances($2.60) in race 10 at Caulfield, she has been in terrific form winning last two. Same trip will go forward and be very hard to beat here. Final Group 1 race meeting for the Melbourne Spring carnival and it has been a cracker. Plenty of winning and plenty of expletives when things didn’t go our way lol, but that’s racing sometimes and we always come back the next week and muscle up. Back end of the Sunny Coast meeting is pretty good today with a few exciting gallopers back in action. The Old man is 70 today so plenty of winners and beers to be consumed lol.
