BR7 H9 NIKAU SPUR($4.20) Been racing really well this prep. We can see him getting the same run as last couple of starts just behind the pace and steaming down the outside. Drops 0.5kgs leading into this. Like the track and distance and good track suits also. Huge Chance.
NIKAU SPUR($2.50); 2nd/$1.50 place beaten 1L, great run behind the leader every possible chance really.
SR7 H1 KIRWAN’S LANE($8.50) Did well first up over the 1300m in a stronger Group 2 race. The step out to the 1500m is ideal and improves greatly 2nd up. From barrier 4 will be just off the pace here and with a bit of speed in the race will be steaming home. .
KIRWAN’S LANE($17); 6th beaten 3.1L, sat midfield seemed to lose his way for a while then picked up again the last 100m. Funny run we will be following him next start in asuitable race.
MR7 H2 VEIGHT($3.70) Great win first up Mcniel Stakes. The step out to the 1400m is ideal. Loves good tracks, loves the track and carries 0.5kg less then last start. Ticks a lot of boxes here, would be surprised if he isn’t in finish.
VEIGHT($3.70); 5th beaten 2.65L, seemed to have a decnt run just behind the speed. Slightly disappointing.
MR10 H4 MIDWEST($4.20) Ran well first up in the Heath (G3) level. Drops back to a benchmark 100 and with the smart claim only carries 56kgs. Loves the track and distance and will lead from barrier 3. Beautifully placed.
MIDWEST($4.20); 5th beaten 2.3L, sat on leader battled on in the straight every chance.
SUMMARY: A tough day in Our Best department last week. But a massive day for eachway punters and exotic takers. Lets dive straight into the action and talk about the Golden Rose and we think King Colorado($7)can win here. Ran super first up when held up and unlucky for most of the race. Has had a trial between runs and loves the 1400m. Will go forward form barrier 9 and be very tough to beat. Charm Stone($6) was a class above them last start at The Valley. The way she ran through the line suggests the 1400m will be ideal. Will get the perfect sit behind the pace here from barrier 1. D Lane will have her ready to pounce at the 200m. If she handles the 1400m she will be hard to beat. Cylinder($4) what a turn of hoof last start to get there in the last stride over the 1200m. The only run over 1400m was on a bog track so forgive there. Loves the track and will be parked in behind the leaders here. You don’t need to be winning by huge margins to be a good horse. Will be there in the finish. Militarize’s($6) run first up was fantastic, second up today and out to the 1400m which is ideal. Has barrier 2 and being a backmarker might get stuck on the fence. But J Moreira on board is a huge bonus. Will be charging late. Shinzo($5.50) has been trialing well but will need to be super fit and ready to go from barrier 10 to win this but has class. Off to Melbourne for The Underwood wfa G1 and Alligator Blood($3.50) looks like it’s his race to lose. Great run against Mr Brightside last start. He’s rock hard fit likes the track and distance and will lead from that barrier. This race is a lot easier than last start. D. Oliver aboard is a bonus. Tuvalu($7) Been racing well this prep and finally gets out to the 1800m. Likes the track and is adept in all conditions. If The Blood is off his game this horse will pounce. Withoutafight($5.50) was huge in the Brisbane Winter Carnival. Won the Lord Mayors cup and the Q22 by big spaces. Good form lines. Has had 2 good trials and loves the distance. Adept in all conditions and will be steaming home. Right You Are($19) ran super last start and the logical distance rise to 1800m is ideal. Loves the track and will be just off pace here from barrier 2. Deserves his chance a Group 1 WFA race. The races keep biulding and are only getting better each week. We are getting super pumped for todays racing plenty of beer and the whips will be cracking no doubt!
