BR7 H8 DARK HORSE($8);very consistent restricted class galloper. He is drawn beautifully in 2 to be right on the speed (in the real world) and he handles all conditions. The distance is ideal and he has been here before . Jim Byrne on.
DARK HORSE($6.50); 5th beaten 2.69L, great run behind the leaders until the 200m when held up momentarily. Ran well enough to consider next time in a similar race.
SR7 H1 NOTHINSWEETABOUTME($10); forget her second up run as she worked early to be on the speed. She also likes to race on the speed or take it up. She has 62kegs again but she can handle that in this class, handles all conditions and the track and distance perfect. Tough to run down here third up.
NOTHINSWEETABOUTME($13); 3rd/$3.80 place beaten 3.16L, she led them until the distance, she tried very hard under her big weight. Great run really.
SR8 H1 KANAZAWA($3.90);very well bred horse with a consistent record and his last startv win indicates a repeat performance here. He relishes the track and distance and should race just off the pace and is in beautifully here with 57.5kegs after the claim. Track conditions are okay here and he should be chimimg in big time at the distance.
KANAZAWA($3.60); 2nd/$1.70 place beaten 0.23L, got forther back then anticipated and then not a great deal of room from then on. He still had an opportunity to get there, decent run.
MR7 H2 BILLTHEBOXER($4);second up, distance and any track conditions are all big positives for this sprinter. For him to lead would be “ideal” and if he does will be super tough to run down.
BILL THE BOXER($4.80); 11th beaten 7L, you can forget this horse ever went around. Wide entire on speed gone before they swung.
MR8 H2 CORNER POCKET($6); as we have said before a very good racehorse this bloke. Super strong win last start in Listed grade back to a BM100 with only a kilo more and he does love the Valley. He will run the 1600m here and if he isn’t in the first 2 or 3 here from gate 1 it will be a huge “WOT THE” from us he is tremendous odds.
CORNER POCKET($5); 2nd/$1.90 beaten 0.2L, great run on speed challenging strongly as they cornered fought on. This horse always does his best.
SUMMARY: Had a cracking day last Saturday. Our Best almost lobbed after a couple of seconds so with a bit of luck this week we can go better. The track at the goldy on Thursday was be on speed and off the fence. So you were no chance back in the field. Lets dive straight in and talk about race 8 in Brisbane and we think Alburq($5) can continue on his winning way. Will be sitting midfield and will be chiming in at the 100m. Likes the track and distance. Chatty Lady($7.50) was never going to win last start when was wide the whole way. Loves the track and distance and is unbeaten 3rd up. Petunia($21) is a mare in form and can run well again. Likes the track and distance and drops 1kg into this. Ocean Treaty($21) is a track and distance specialist but he doesn’t run well first up but can fill a minor spot. Will be midfield and charging home into the places. The Fav has never won over the track or distance just food for thought. Onto race 9 Brisbane and we think The Big Goodbye($3.40) can get the cash here. Has good early speed so from barrier 8 will be up on pace. Loves the track and distance and will be hard to run down. Orbisyn($2.50) only got run down late last start. Likes the track and distance and will be leading from barrier 3. J Byrne is a bonus. Fifteen Rounds($7) has been in insane form winning last two. Another that likes the track and distance and will be midfield from barrier 12 and will be steaming home if the pace is strong. Miss Barty($31) was never in it last start when well back. Was in listed grade too so the step down in grade will suit. Will be up near the pace just behind the leaders and might just get the drop on them. Not bad racing today in all states with plenty of value to be had in our opinion. It’s a cracking day and let’s hope no meetings are postponed again this week.
