BR7 H2 SLOWHANDS($6) Ran on well last start. Third up today and on to a wet track is ideal. Drops 4.5kgs from last run and loves the track and distance. From barrier 5 will be midfield and with a bit of pace up front will be steaming home.
SLOW HANDS($6.50); 6th beaten 3.95L, thought it was a pretty good ride and seemed to have every chance.
SR6 H3 PARIS D’OR($5.50) Has had 2 good trails leading up to this first up run. And Kibou has come out and won so good form there. Loves the track and distance and is adept in all conditions. Will be up on speed from barrier 4 hopefully with a beaut run in transit.
PARIS D’OR($3.30); 4th beaten 4.15L, a sludgefest and ran okay.
R10 H13 WICKLOW($5.50) Been in terrific form this prep. Has had a month off but has had a trial in the mean time. Drops back to the 1600m here, hopefully from barrier 8 can sit closer as last time over 1600m the tempo was a bit slow and he didn’t pick up till late. If he does get back hope for the speed to be genuine. Either way will be hard to beat.
WICKLOW($5.50); 4th beaten 0.45L, horror watch in the straight.
R9 H4 GLOBAL GIFT ($7) Also been in terrific form this prep. Loves the track and distance and is adept in all conditions. Gets a 2kg claim which drops him to 58kg. From barrier 7 will get back in running but should be a good tempo to suit here. Ticks a lot of boxes here. Huge chance.
GLOBAL GIFT($8.50); 3rd/place $3 beaten 2L, 3 deep entire so a pretty decent run considering.
SUMMARY: Our Best last Saturday were “UNLUCKY” to say the least. Check out the Horses To Follow because they have made it in there. Lets dive straight into the action in Melbourne Mcewan Stakes and we think In The Congo can grab the win here first up. Two impressive trials leading up to this first up attempt. Will be right on pace here and be super tough to run down. Coolangatta was impressive winning her jump out. Will get back in running but will be steaming home at a rate of knots. Zoustyle an absolute speed machine and another who has trialled impressively. Would love to see him settle better in his runs as he tends to over do it. But in saying that it is a 1000m and will be strong over this trip. Rothfire top galloper who returned well off a long injury last prep running third in the Stradbroke handicap against Alligator Blood. Loves the distance and first up and is adept in all conditions. Cracking sprint race. The Chautauqua Stakes and we have been waiting for Oxley Road to start again. His first up run was full of merit only beaten 2 lengths after sitting wide the entire trip. Loves wet tracks and the distance suits. Huge chance. Corner Pocket is unbeaten at the track and distance. Has won in listed grade and placed in group 2 so up to the class. Will be up on pace from barrier 7 if the pace is strong he will be steaming home. Likes a soft track! Ranges ran super against The talented Uncommon James last start. From barrier 1 will have the pick of where to sit but won’t want to get caught on the fence here. Likes the cut out of the ground and with even luck in running will be competitive. Prince Of Boom is a pistol first up and loves the 1200m. Has the wide gate to contend with here but with his gate speed should be able to posey up behind the speed. Calypso Reign has been in great form this prep. Won a Group 3 last startand the wetter the better for this galloper. Loves the distance will be midfield in running and drops 4.5kg leading into this. The old boy Eduardo is back and has been racing like a 3 year old of late. The best horse in the race and everything points to a first up victory. Can’t wait to see him further in the prep. Miserable day in the Sunshine state and a deteriorating track in Brisbane so be weary of track downgrades.
