OUR BEST; BR7 H8 LYRICAL GIRL($6) Has had a 16 week break leading to this first up run. Trialled nicely and looks ready to go first up. Loves the track and distance and is adept in all conditions. Has great gate speed and will be on pace and hard to run down. Huge chance.
LYRICAL GIRL($7.50); FIRST GIDDYUP!!! jumped with them then back to 4th 3 wide entire trip but finished with a full head of steam too good.
SR3 H4 MOUNT POPA($3) Been getting better with every start this prep and third up staying at the 2000m is ideal. Carries same weight and is adapt in all conditions. From barrier 6 will be midfield and wil be stalking all the way and will be steaming home at a rate of knots.
MOUNT POPA($3.80); FIRST GIDDYUP!!! great ride by Willie Pike to keep Polly Grey in a pocket turning, until he let his mount unleash at thye distance then fought on strongly.
SR10 H8 TAKSU($3) Been in terrific form this prep with a win and a second. Can win here third up and is adept in all conditions. Loves the track and distance and only carries 55kgs after the claim. From barrier 1 fully expect him to lead here and be super tough to run down.
RACE ABD. DUE TO WEATHER
MR9 H7 BASARWA($6)Raced against some pretty handy ones last start in the likes of Yonce and Gentleman Roy. Drops back in grade which is ideal and stays at the 1600m. From barrier 6 will be stalking the leaders and the whips will be cracking at the 100m. D Oliver aboard is a huge bonus. Great chance.
BASARWA($4.20); 2nd/$1.70 place beaten 2L, got shuffled back a couple of times but tracked the winner into the straight. Not totally clear when the winner took off , he ran home strongly when clear.
SUMMARY: Had a great day last week on a tough day, Our Best did well no winners but In The Congo flew the flag proud only beaten half a length at 4.50 a place, so good result there. We will dive straight in and talk about the 3 Year Old Quality(SR6) and we think Brutality($6) can win here. Ran well first up in the Liverpool City Cup then 2nd up was travelling well then hampered at a vital stage and never picked up after that. Third up here and loves the track and distance. Should be midfield and with some luck will be steaming home. Our Playboy($3.60) was a nice run first up. Second up today suits this galloper and the step out to the 1500m is ideal. Loves a wet track and drops 2 kg from last start and J Kah aboard is a bonus. Will be midfield and will be charging late. Mr Mozart($4) won well here 3rd when lead all the way. Should be going to the front again. Can’t see much that would challenge him for the lead here so might have an easy time getting across from barrier 12. The track and distance is ideal and wetter the better for him. Drops 3.5kgs and W Pike is aboard. Imaging($4.80) always runs well first up and proved that last prep when only beaten 1.7l in the Winx stakes(G1), group 3 and 2 are his go and looked good winning a trial as well. Loves the sting out of the ground and the track and distance suits. Does get back and gets caught in a lot of traffic but with clear air will be charging late with J Mac aboard. SR7 The Tancred Stakes and we think Spanish Mission($4) can get the job done here. We r hoping for an easy time getting to the front here and if so he will be extremely hard to run down. Stepping out to the 2400m is ideal and only has to handle the heavy track to be very competitive. Stockman($12) is an absolute swimmer and grows an extra leg in these conditions. Loves the track and distance and is good third up. From barrier 5 will be stalking the pace and will be there when the whips are cracking. Mightybeel($31) can run a sneaky race here. Loves the track and distance and doesn’t mind a wet track. The step out to the 2400m is ideal and with T Berry aboard is a huge chance. Will be charging late. Sheraz($26) has had 2 runs this prep and they were better then what the from says. He is at peak fitness now and will relish every bit of the 2400m. Has won third up and the wet track suits. Will be up just behind the speed from barrier 4. Great chance. Left the two favs out just on the basis of the heavy track which they don’t like. A very tough day today but we will have a cracking day nonetheless. Just would like to Welcome the new members To Horsebuck$.
