OUR BEST; BR5 H1 RACECOURSE ROAD($7.50) Ran well first up chased hard but needed that first up run. 2nd up here and the extra 100m suits. Loves the track and is adept in all conditions. Gets a 2kg claimer on board and carries 57kg. Huge chance and can upset the fav here.
RACECOURSE ROAD($5.50); 6th beaten 3.7L, what the!!! couldn’t believe those three went at it hammer and tongs in front, our horse was 3 wide challenging for the lead ridiculous. Poor ride seems riders think that because they are riding on a big track that racing 3 wide is acceptable. Three wide any track is game over with cover or without. Not an excuse just fact.
SR5 H12 OAKFIELD ARROWS($7.50) Won really well last start when led all the way. From barrier 5 again and should be in the lead, but can take a sit if necessary. Loves the track and distance and is adept in all conditions. Will be very hard to run down here.
OAKFIELD ARROW($10); 2nd/$2.40 place, beaten on the line by the proverbial, Nicktock took her on early (ran last) probably cost her the last 50M great run.
SR6 H2 CRYSTAL PEGASUS($3.40) Ran super first up when held up at a vital stage and really charged late. Didn’t step out to the 2000m until 4th run in last prep, but steps out to the 2000m’s 2nd up here which is ideal. Senior rider on board which suits and loves the track and distance. Will be midfield and be charging home at the distance. Huge chance!!
CRYSTAL PEGASUS($3.10); FIRST GIDDYUP!!! sat midfield until the distance pounced on the lead and fought on strongly to hold off Casino Kid.
SR10 H14 NARVAEZ($3) Great run first up when sitting wide the entire way. Stays at the 1400m and with the better draw here fully expect him to be in the lead. Has the right jock on board Tim Clarke and drops 4kgs from last start. Huge chance and ready to win 2nd up.
NAVAEZ($2.80); 9th beaten 3.94L, great run in 4th did absolutely nothing in the straight. Second up flat???
SUMMARY: Deep Dive was almost the cherry on the cake last week when just missing narrowly in Our Best. Another cracking day for our top 4 and exotic players. Lets dive straight in and go to the Sunny Coast race 7 and we think The Harrovian($3.75) will get the win here. Has been building up to a win dropping back from the 1600m to the 1400m is ideal. Will take beating up on pace. Desert Lord($3.60) after 3 trials looks ready to go first up. From barrier 12 should get back from there. Loves the track and distance and will be charging late with pace up front. Oscar Zulu($9) was way too far back last start but ran on strongly. From barrier 6 should sit closer in running and loves the distance. Animate($9.50) ran on well last start after being held held up at a vital stage. Gets back in his running but if he gets 1out 1 back with clear running will be steaming home at a hundred miles an hour. Off to Sydney race 8 and we think Holyfield($8.50) can run well again. Drops back from listed grade last start and only carries 59.5kgs. Loves the track and the extra 100m will suit this galloper, he has great gate speed so from barrier 9 should be up just behind the pace. Great chance. Yiyi($2.50) sat wide last start and ran on well, a couple of weeks between runs and the step out to the 1500m is ideal. Loves the track and distance and from barrier 1 wont be far away and is a great winning chance. Kingsheir($4.80) has been in great form this prep. From barrier 6 should be up on the pace and be challenging for the lead. Drops back 100m which is perfect, loves the track and distance and if he hits the front at the 200m will be hard to run down. Wairere Falls($9.50) has been running on well in his 2 runs of a spell. Good third up and loves the distance never won at the track but has placed 3 from 6 so might find it hard to win but is certainly a threat if runs well again. Off to Melbourne and the Group 2 Australia Stakes and we think Marabi($1.65) can take the step up here. He’s 5 from 5 and been making his own luck in front. Loves the track and distance and will be hard to run down again. Has to handle the wet conditions also. Just Folk($34) was just off the them in the group 1 Cantala stakes last prep he has run well over this trip before and has won at this track. Absolute swimmer he is winning 2 from 2 on heavy tracks and soft track 2 wins and 2 placings. Will get back from barrier 3 but will be steaming home like a freight train. Turaath($9) ran well first up. Stays at the 1200m but is fitter and should be up around midfield from barrier 10. Loves the wet and will be there in the finish. Streets Of Avalon($9.50) can run well fresh here. Likes the track and distance but more likely to place in this first up attempt. Some good races on today and some good value around as well in our top 4.
