OUR BEST; SR7 H2 COUNTOFMONTECRISTO($6) Never handled the heavy conditions last start so forgiving that run. The step up to 1500m suits and third up also. Drops half a  kilo from last start. From barrier 1 should be able to sit midfield which is where he likes to be in running. James Mcdonald aboard is a huge bonus and is great chance on a drying track. 

COUNTOFMONTECRISTO($); 5th beaten 1.81L, ran okay but raced like a horse that needs further, one more for him over a longer trip.

MR4 H1 LA MEXICANA($3.20) This galloper picks her self. She is great first up. Likes the track and distance and is adept in all conditions. Jamie Kah aboard is a huge bonus as she has ridden this horse many times. Think she might have the edge in this race. 

LA MEXICANA($3.90); 2nd/$1.90 place beaten 0.1L, beaten by a whisker ridden beautifully by Jamie Hah under her big weight to just miss. Big Follow up on this consistent mare.

BR9 H6 ZIEMBA($6) Been racing great this prep. Third up today and a soft track suits this galloper. Likes the track and distance. From barrier 2  would like to see him a bit closer to the speed here. Midfield preferably. Has won in this class before. Looks a great chance in this race. 

ZIEMBA($); 5th beaten 1.75L, held up in the straight ran on strongly last 50m

SR10 FROSTY ROCKS($3.40) Been trialing the house down of late. Is a proven performer first up. Likes the track and distance. Loves soft tracks and from barrier 2 should be able to lead here. Looks super hard to beat here. 

FROSTY ROCKS($2.30); FIRST GIDDYUP!!! jumped in front led comfortably challenged strongly at the distance but was too strong

SUMMARY; A short hiatus in Our Best last week but we think we have a few for the subscribers. Like to talk about race 6 at Doomben and we think that Explosive Quality can run a huge race here. Has been racing well before an 8 week freshen up. The drop back to the 1200m and a trial before this run is ideal. Luskin Hero has been in terrific form and likes the track and distance. So Clever has been winning really well and is a huge chance dropping well below the minimum with the 3 kg claimer. Acrobatic has struck form and has a chance again. The July Sprint and we think that Trumbull can get the win here. Loves the track and distance and a proven first up performer and has won in this class before. Has 61kgs but we think he can still win. All Time Legend is ready to go first up and likes the track distance. Barbaric and Chat can run good races down in the weights. The Bletchingly Stakes and Streets of Avilon can win here first up. Hasn’t won on soft tracks before but has ran super in some. Ran well in the all star mile last prep and won a Group 1 as well. Trialed well and has won first up. Track and distance suits as well. Viridine has been running on nicely last couple and the step out to the 1200m is ideal. Order Of Command needed the run first up and onto a wet track suits. The Astrologist is in terrific form and wet track no problems here. Red Can Man in good form and the best of the rest. Hasn’t won on soft tracks from two goes but hasn’t been beaten far. Tough race. Supposed to be showers from the late morning in Melbourne so just keep an eye out for possible downgrades to the track.
