OUR BEST; MR5 H7 SAPPHIRE CROWN($5); we expect this horse to roll forward and be right on the speed here, his last run was very good considering he blundered in the straight. He was beaten home by Andermatt and Vulpine serious form credentials for a race like this. He is Our Best.

SAPPHIRE CROWN($5,50; 9th beaten 6.7L, did absolutely nothing, disappointing.

BR8 H7 SPIRIT ESPRIT($17); fresh is best for this bloke and relishes soft tracks. Track and distance suits, he will settle back hopefully off the fence and as long as the track is racing fair he will be running home over the top of them.

SPIRIT ESPRIT($); 5th beaten 1.1L, ran home strongly from the back, the race was dominated by on pace runners. Big follow up on this horse.

MR7 H2 CHAPADA($8.50); this galloper is a seasoned Group performer and his last run in the Group 1 Australian cup at WFA was a beauty. He likes to settle mid field and be on his way before the turn which is ideal at this venue. Performs well third up and the distance is ideal. We expect him to trouble the favourite out of 1st prize. Huge chance.

CHAPADA($6.50); 5th beaten 5.2L, the leader dominated the race and at this circuit from where he was placed (last) he was never going to win. He made a long run out wide which petered out at the distance. He did well considering his tough task, bigger circuit for him.

BEST EACH WAY; MR9 H12 CASSIUS($19); this horse likes tight circuits aka the Valley. His pattern of racing is ideally suited to this track and the distance is perfect. He drops 4 kegs on his last start 2nd at the Valley. His style is to be rounding them up out wide as they swing and if he gets the jump on them it might be catch me if you can. We think he is overs. GIDDYUP!!!

CASSIUS($17); 4th beaten 4.9L, thought he had run 3rd for sure, he had a great run in behind tried hard all the way 

SUMMARY; What a cracking day last week for Our Best players with 3 winners with Califonia Zimbol($3.30), Jadentom($3.50) and the cherry on top of the cake I Am Superman ($12 – $9.50) www.horsebucks.com.au We were going to summarise the the big 4 at Rosehill today but Mother Nature took care of that. We will leave our Rosehill tips in today for subscribers in case they race in the next couple of days but it looks more likely they will be racing next Saturday. Track ratings are our pet hate here at Horsebuck$ the numbers game means nothing to most punters. Interviewing jockeys after a ride and asking the question ” do you still think the track is a soft 7 or maybe a soft 6 now” seriously WHAT THE!!! Unless every form guide has that information broken down example; soft 6 stats 10 starts = w/p etc. it is useless rhetoric. Fast, Good, Dead, Slow & Heavy simple isn’t it?? Don’t start me on the number of times they get it wrong. Mornington today and Race 8 the sprint could Sirius Suspect($8) topple Ancestry($2.80) both on speed horses and have performed well here before. Might prefer Sirius Suspect with 2.5kegs swing with Hightail and How Womantic next best.
