OUR BEST; BR6 H3 STAROSA($3.90) Great first up run when finishing third running home really well. Second up today out the 1350m is ideal. Drops 1kg leading into this. Has won in this class before. Ran well in the group 1 J.J Atkins last prep only beaten 5 lengths and caught wide as well. Loves the track and distance, has good gate speed so from barrier 9 can get a good sit either in the lead or behind the pace. Huge chance !!

STAROSA($3.70); FIRST, ran to the front at the top of the straight and held on for a strong win.

BR9 H4 STUTTERING($7.50) Ran strongly first up to just go down. Second up today(2-1w-1p). Loves the track and distance. From barrier 9 can get up on speed and dictate the pace. Has won with 60kgs before so the weight doesn’t seem an issue here. He will be hard to run  down. The whips will be cracking. 

STUTTERING($10); last beaten 22L, missed the start hopelessly just followed field home. Next time this horse.

SR H3 POSITIVE PEACE($4.60) Great win last start and we think he can win again. Stays at the same weight of 57kg. Steps out to the 1400m which is ideal. loves the track. Heavy track is perfect. From barrier 4 he can lead or take a sit if need be. Has won in group 2 company before. Huge chance. !

POSITIVE PEACE($2.60); 3RD beaten 1.5L, had a good run just plugged to the line.

SR4 H1 EXPRESS COURIER($4.80) Been racing in super form this prep. Stepping up to the 2000m is ideal. Loves the slop absolute mudder. He carried 62.5kgs last start. With the 2kilo claim from Tommy Sherry he only carries 55kgs. He drops7.5kgs from last run. He looks like he is up to a race in town and has placed in this grade before. He settles back in his run but he has a brilliant turn off foot. So expect him to be flying home and hopefully hitting the front at the 100m. Huge chance !!! 

EXPRESS COURIER($5); 5th beaten 4.75L, got a long way back ran home okay with out ever being likely.

MR3 H5 RIDDLE ME THAT($10) Ran well last start in the Group 2 Crystal Mile at Moonee Valley when last on a soft track was never going to figure on a leader biased track too. Back to his favourite track Flemington. Back in distance to the 1400m which is ideal. Back to a good track which is another bonus. Can sit closer in a small field and will be steaming over the top of them late. Great chance !!!

RIDDLE ME THAT($8.50); 6th beaten 6L, disappointing really maybe a smidge off them(class)

SUMMARY; We had a cracking day last week on a super tuff day with a win in our best bets !. Personal we had in our best last start came out and won the Oaks on Thursday. It always pays to back up on our best bets there next start. More often then not they run really well. I’ll go straight to the Darley Sprint Classic and we think Bivouac will win. A huge run in the Everest when held up at a vital stage and stormed home when clear. Loves the track and distance and third up as well. Should get a sit in behind the leaders and be charging over them. Nature Strip will have to turn around his form big time to be winning this. The Matriarch Stakes and we think Vanna Girl will be tuff to beat here. Her run last start was super. But don’t know how she got caught wide from barrier 1 so hopefully Bowman can find her a position behind the leaders with cover. Greysful Glamour if left alone in front will be tuff to run down. The lightly raced Challiot’s run in the Empire Rose was outstanding. The step out in distance will suit. Paradee can run well its only fail at the distance was on a heavy track. The Mackinnon Stakes and Fifty Stars ran well in the Cantala Stakes last start. The step out to the 2000m is ideal. He will get back and be steaming home ! Mugatoo’s run in the cox plate was outstanding. Can easily run a huge race here and will be better suited to Flemington. Same goes for Arcadian Queen. Melody Belle will run a cracking race and is a 12 time Group 1 winner. Shout the Bar’s win in the empire rose was great and can run another cheeky race on the minimum. A huge days racing at Flemington on the last day of the carnival. It has been a Melbourne cup carnival like no other. One we will be talking about in the years to come.
