BR9 H2 MACEWEN($6.50); this is not an easy race to finish the day on but we feel this horse with Nothdurft back on is the real deal in this. He can settle anywhere in the run and from gate 6 he might be a touch closer as there is plenty of pace here. Relishes the track and distance and drier surfaces and if all is fair in the real world(track bias) we think he can run over them with 50m to go. OUR BEST
MACEWEN($7); eased out of the race after nearly falling on the home turn.
MR7 H10 FUTURE SCORE($9.50); another tough race but they are all hard today and this horse is in very good form, has a drop of 2kegs here and up to his peak distance. He has drawn the rails and can position himself just off the pace which would be ideal around this circuit. We certainly expect him to be firing on all cylinders at the distance. GIDDYUP!!!
FUTURE SCORE; LATE SCRATCHING
MR8 H2 BONS AWAY($11); whilst he hasn’t won for a while he has been racing in GROUP races and acquitting himself quite well. He is back to his optimum grade today and with barrier 6 he should be able to possie himself up near the speed and this definitely is his preferred distance. Third up no issue and if he has the drop on them into the short straight it could be game set and match.
BON’S AWAY ($9); 7th beaten 2.5L, mid field 3 wide not ideal but having said he has had a few chances in this level and above and just comes up short.
Lets hope Rosehill doesn’t turn into a bottomless pit like last week mid programme and the Eagle Farm straight is in better condition than last meeting. Okay that being said there is some great GROUP 1 racing at the Gardens this afternoon the Golden Slipper for 2 year olds is not a race we like to wager in but this year we do like the filly Dame Giselle($10) she handles all conditions but if the track dries out she can reel off a really quick last 600m, Hanseatic, Away Game and Tagaloa hard to beat with the Blue Diamond form holding up. Rosehill Guineas and you would think Shadow Hero($3.50) will be super hard to hold out here with a super impressive win last start the Derby winners Sherwood Forest($10) N.Z. Derby and Warning($6.50) Vic. Derby and Reloaded the dangers. What a crazy race The Galaxy is In Her Time($16) is in quite well here with 55kegs and is a genuine Group mare and ticks a lot of boxes here first up Pierata top galloper hardest to beat. Just be mindful Alizee($9.50) was really afforded no chance last start when caught 3 wide back last , she is in the George Ryder today it would certainly not surprise us to see her figure in a really good Group one. No luck in Our Best last week but 2 of those we will definitely be backing up on we had 18 winners in our top 4 with some nice results for multi runner players along with 12 Quinella/exactas, 4 Trifectas and 1 First4 with a nice treble in Melbourne.
