MR8 H4 YULONG JANUARY($4.80) Great win last start when lead all the way for a strong victory. He should be able to be up in the leading bunch again today. He has good tactical speed so barrier 10 wont bother him. Loves the distance and good tracks. Good 3rd up Ben Malham aboard is a bonus. Hopefully kicking clear in the straight.
YULONG JANUARY($3.60); FIRST, jumped straight to the front and never in doubt after GIDDYUP!!!
BR4 H1 ADVANCE WARNING($4.60) Good tough win last start after being well back, held up and ducking back to the inside rail. He drops in class from benchmark 80 to a benchmark 75 so with the 3 kilo claim to 56kg he gets in really well at weights. Loves the track and distance. From barrier 8 hopefully he can jump well and be midfield 1 out 1 back. He will be steaming home over the top of them !. He is our best.
ADVANCE WARNING(5.50); 8th beaten 4.6L, completely missed the start, was coming with a full head of steam through the pack when stopped in his tracks(twice) definitely going to figure in the finish. Next time for him.
MR3 H12 INDIANA LILY($19) Good run first up when only 2.65lengths from the winner. Great stats 2nd up, 2 wins 1 placing rom 3 starts. The track and distance suits so the step out to the 1400m is ideal. From barrier 7 I would like to see him roll forward and be in the top half of the field. Dunn taking the ride is a positive as well. Should be pouncing on the lead with 100m to go. Huge chance at great odds!
INDIANA LILY($17); 3rd/$2.90 place, beaten 3L; had every chance nice run she did her best.
SR7 H9 STEPHAN($11) Great win last start when arriving on the post from what thought to be to far back. Today he has barrier 2 which means he can sit closer to the leading bunch. There will be some speed in this race which will suit. He drops 2.5kg from last start. Good third up. The whips will be cracking at the 100m.
STEPHAN($8.40); FIRST GOUGUDTHING!!; beautiful run in behind the speed once clear in the straight he powered home strongly.
MR6 H1 SNITZKRAFT($8.50) Had a win and placing in listed races last prep. First up today (2wins and 2 placings). Has a 2 kilo claim which takes him down to 58kg. The 1200m suits and from barrier 8 should be going to the lead or just behind the leading duo. No trials but stokes will have him stoked up for this (pun not intended). Huge chance
SNITZKRAFT($4.60); FIRST; had a tough run in transit but once Snitzkraft and the runner up broke away from the field at the distance he dug deep to score. YOWZER!!
After a blowout in our best last week and some so called rides we are eager to make amends this week. We will talk about a couple of races today and first up will be the Pakenham Cup. Its a race with a lot of out of form stayers and only a couple of in form horses. The favourite Secret Blaze looks the one to beat but did fail at this distance In the group 1 SA Derby. Was it simply outclassed or did he not run the distance out only time will tell. But at good odds of 18 bucks we think Valac could give this a bit of shake up. From barrier 2 should find the lead pretty easily here. Loves the track and distance and good tracks. Just want to talk about the last race in Sydney the benchmark 88 . We think Strome is a bit of overs here, likes the track and distance drops 2.5kg from last start. Just a quick talk about the Kingston Town Classic, we think Platoon is way over the odds here, ran really well last start and the step out to the 1800m is ideal. From barrier 7 hopefully a better run in transit this time around. The favourite Tuscan Queen first time in Group 1 company she could be that good but hard to get enthused about that price. POST RACE SUMMARY: HIGH FIVES ALL ROUND this week for another cracking day for subscribers in OUR BEST BETS with SNITZKRAFT($8.50 – $4.60), STEPHAN($11 – $8.50) and YULONG JANUARY($4.80 – $3.60) successful with INDIANA LILY($19 – $17) a good 3rd/$2.90 place and ADVANCED WARNING($4.60 – $5.50) 8th( watch replay) NEXT TIME for him. As we have stated previously we only have between 2 and 5 runners in OUR BEST weekly so our strike rate is OUT THERE or even further(: No resting on your laurels in this caper next week we will be trying for even better results. Fifteen winners in our top 4 selections (multi runner players) with some excellent value there as well the best being The Party Girl/$31, She’s Furline(on top)/$19, Smart Meteor/$13, Guise/$12 and Star Surprise(on top)/$10, exotics were a little thin this week.
