MR2 H7 GRINZINGER STAR;($4.40) Been Improving with each run this preperation. The step up to the 2000m is ideal peaking third up. Drops 6kgs from last run and with Damian Oliver aboard and barrier 4 hopefully sits closer in running and be pouncing on the lead with 100m to go. He is our best !
GRINZINGER STAR($3); 5th beaten 2.4L, a 10 out of 10 ride by Oliver, the horse had every conceivable chance.
SR7 H9 MOSS TRIP;($16) Was very unlucky last start when held up the entire straight only beaten a length. He is third up today. Steps up to the 1400m. Has placed in Group 2 company before. A lot of these horses in this race are looking for further. Should sit midfield and be steaming home in clear air. Looks a suitable assignment.
MOSS TRIP($26); 2ND/$6.10 place beaten 1.3L, followed the winner the whole way and held on gamely for second at very nice odds.
MR6 H6 ANOTHER DOLLAR;($14) Ran well last start when just a run short beaten in the last 100m when run ended. This horse really hits its straps 4th run in and better. Likes the track and distance and from barrier 7 should get a nice run in transit and is adapt in all conditions. Ready to win at good odds.
ANOTHER DOLLAR($13); 9th beaten 2.6L, made a run with the eventual winner at the distance but just plugged to the line, a little disappointing.
What a spring carnival it has been. Plenty of great racing and a few stars for the future that we can’t wait to see next year. The last day of the spring carnival is apon us and wouldn’t it be fantastic if the old boy Hatrnell would be able to salute in the Mckinnon after being so unlucky in most races this prep. We think Lady Pluck in the last at flemington get can get the cash . Ran super last start on a heavy track. Back to the 1100m, third up adapt in all conditions. SUMMARY; Melbourne Spring carnival has been a mixed bag for sure, but we have had some good results there. Melbourne Cup day we 5 winners in our top 4 selections and our Best Bets to our subscribers namely Looks Like Elvis($7) and Betcha Flying($6) both ran 2nd beaten a pixel after sprinting to the lead at the 100m and being nabbed on the peg…. that’s racing. We have been on fire in both Brisbane and Sydney of late and last Saturday was no exception with 16 winners (in our top4) at these 2 venues with Stephan($32), Dame Giselle($14), High Cost($24) to name a few and a host of winners between the $5 to $8 range so there was plenty for multi runner players to sing about also a multitude of exotics. Our Best each way also ran 2nd at very juicy odds $6.10 the place. At Flemington we only had the 3 winners(3 quinellas) it certainly was a tough gig with plenty of second placings but no excuses from us though. We will bounce back for sure now that the carnival is winding down. Nature Strip had a very good win but don’t let the media hype around him sway your judgement, he waltzed through the first 600m(36.3) and zoomed home the last 600m(33.08) the others had no chance.
