SR8 JUST THINKIN($3.40) This horse has hit his straps at his last 2 starts. We think he could be a very nice horse in the future and win some nice races along the way. Stepping out to the 1800m looks ideal and breeding suggest he will get over the distance no problem. Carries 56kgs. Tim Clarke will roll him forward from barrier 6. Huge chance. He is our best .
JUST THINKIN'($3.20); 4TH beaten 4.5L, had a great run behind the leaders wasn’t good enough.
MR6 MISSILE MANTRA($5) No doubt this horse should have won last start after being held up at a crucial time in the straight. Should get back from barrier 13 and hopefully he can get out wide and steam home. Damien Lane aboard is a bonus. He ticks a lot of boxes here.
MISSILE MANTRA($6.50); 5TH beaten 2.5L; forget half the field ever went around here.
MR4 MAHAMEDEIS($10); We think this horse is so far over the odds, ran a great second behind Homesman( $2.80 fav. for Group 1 Underwood) last start in the Feehan(G2) W.F.A. (59KGS) carries W.F.A. again in an open handicap. He will settle midfield but as long as the track is not playing to an on pace bias he will be looming large at the distance. GIDDYUP!!!!!
MAHAMADEIS($10); 4TH beaten 1.9L, held up slightly finished off nicely next time.
MR8 BRAVE SONG($10) Had a fantastic prep up in Queensland. Returns to Melbounre after wintering in Queensland. Has a fantastic first up record loves the track and distance. Should get back from gate 13 but will be steaming home over the top of them. Plenty of speed in this race which should suit. Huge chance !.
BRAVE SONG($10); 8TH beaten 2.9L, very disappointing but we won’t be dropping off him next start.
BR5 SABKHAT($7) Ran well last start to finish 3rd beaten a pimple. Third up today. Likes the track and distance his 2kg claim drops him to 55.5kg. From barrier 2 he can a sit in behind the leading group and be hitting the front with a 100m to go!. This looks likes his chance to retun to the winners list.
SABKHAT($6.50); 3RD($2.10 place) beaten 1.4L, on the pace all the way had every chance fought on well.
Melbourne has been a minefield the last 2 weeks as it settles into the big Group 1 races. Finche Melbourne cup bound, there is shades of Fiorente about this horse. A great days racing today and Sunday, as you guys know we always go to the big Sunday meeting instead of the mid week fixture at Mornington. The Odyssey($4) BR4 we had this horse in Our Best last start after jumping and leading easily the hoop restrained him (for what ever reason) and then he over raced. He is a free flowing galloper and surprise J.Orman is back on today. Castelvecchio($11)is in the Golden Rose SR7, he was virtually no chance last start from back in last place in a race dominated by Just Thinkin’ one would think he would be a little closer in the running today good horse. Great day’s racing today but an even better day tomorrow and GO THE TIGERS there’s nothing sweeter than back to back Flags. SUMMARY; No luck in Our Best this week with Sabkhat our best result 3rd/$2.10 place. Caulfield was unpredictable again but we certainly took plenty of positives out of the fixture with quite a few future winners coming out of it and locked away in our vault for future reference GIDDYUP!!! We had a cracking day at Doomben and Rosehill with 14 winners in our top 4 plus 2 First4’s, 6 Trifectas, 12 Quinella/Exactas and the 2 MAIN QUADDIES DOOMBEN $3,043 ROSEHILL $425 SO FANTASTIC RESULTS THERE. Caulfield was unpredictable once again we had 2 winners there both on top and 5 seconds 4 in close goes, so we will be upping the ante at Flemington on Saturday expect fireworks.
