MR7 H3 MILWAUKEE($4); In great form this prep. He is a Flemington straight specialist. Loves the 1200m and carries same weight as last start and with Damien Oliver aboard from barrier 6 should be fighting out the finish . Handles soft and good tracks. He is Our best !
MILWAUKEE($3.40); 2ND $1.70 place beaten 0.5L, had a great run down the straight when fired up by Oliver wanted to shift in, ran well.
MR9 H6 COLLECTABLE($18); this filly has similar form pattern to the odds on favourite Sure Knee and the only time she has really failed was in 2 Group1 races. Back down to 54kgs here and Dean Yendall on is significant, she will be back in the field with the favourite and getting home hard. We expect these 2 to fight it out with Collectable prevailing by a flared nostril
COLLECTABLE($21); 3RD $4.10 place beaten 1L, had a nice run in transit in a packed field, held up momentarily between runners at the distance when fully clear ran home strongly. She ran well.
SR7 H9 EPIC DAN;($17) In great form this prep. He ran a great race last start when he does nothing 2nd up of a spell. He is third up today 3 wins from 5 starts. Raced over the 1200m last start so dropping back to the 1000m is his go. Good weight of 55kg a great barrier of #6 so can lead or take a sit. Likes heavy ground and J Collet steering the reins as well. Great chance .
EPIC DAN($7.50); 8TH beaten 4.1L, thought it was a weak effort considering.
LONGSHOT: BR7 H2 FAB’S COWBOY ;($23) Absolute hideous run last start when 4 wide the entire trip. He has run well in town before and with a better gate this time he can get a nice sit in behind the leading bunch and pounce at the distance. He loves the distance 15 goes for 6 wins and few places. Has run well at Doomben before. He drops 5.5kgs from last start and loves soft ground. He will run a huge race today we expect him to be in the finish !.
FAB’S COWBOY($19); 7TH beaten 3.4L, his race was virtually over when the track turned to a heavy ten.
Great day last week for Our Best followers with 2 from 2 Gaulois($8) and Masculino($4.40) this week we think we have some real nice value in Our Best Eachway. I want to touch on Doomben race 3 today, Mewstone Rock($6) this mare loves the course and wet conditions, she gets well back but can get home hard. We initially had her in Our Best but the fact she hadn’t started over 2000m before we decided not to but being by Fastnet Rock you would think the distance would be perfect for her. The other horse in the race we think can run a race is Zanyetta($19) she raced out of her class last start and ran well, she only rates in these soft conditions and the distance is good she just might give Mewstone Rock something to catch in the straight… interesting race. There are a few shorties going around today and most of them look the goods but there is still plenty of VALUE to be had and as we have always stated our top 4 selections are just that and our psyche here at Horsebuck$ is that each and everyone has a winning chance. That is why multi runner punters should be having a good time of it as well as OUR BEST players. Real winter’s racing today in all states with some good races and some not so good, so on that cautious note have a great weekend and above all “ENJOY YOUR RACING” and “GOOD LUCK” to all from HORSEBUCK$
POST SUMMARY: Winter racing really came to town on Saturday, especially at Doomben when the rains returned and turned the track into a slogfest. Our Best Milwaukee $1.70 place ran second and Collectable ran 3rd at nice odds$4.10 the place while Epic Dan was very disappointing. Once again some great value for multi runner players Madam Shazam $20/$3.80, Great Duchess $17.40/$3.50 and Handsome Thief $10.60/$2.70 to name a few along with a First4 SR9 $1,240, 4 Trifectas best MR9 $697, SR9 $284 and 8 Quinella/Exactas. Don’t forget the Any2 combo plays, you can get some great results out of our top 4 selections with this method. Track got to a Good 4 at Flemington, but keep it in mind it is winter and would NOT be a genuine Good track more like a Dead in the old vernacular. We rate our top 4 selections, weather it be Our Best bets, win/place for multi runner punters or the exotics and there are a plethora of different types, our consistent results in all of these areas is OUTSTANDING.
