BR 5 H9 SHOGUN SUN($5.50); This is a winnable race for this galloper. he is simply not a group horse and at this level from this draw he should be able to get a beaut run behind the speed. He handles all conditions and we think Shinn should get the best out of him at this level. GIDDYUP!!!
SHOGUN SUN($4); 2ND beaten 0.1L, what a beautiful ride by Blake Shinn went for the split at the distance held up momentarily got through and hit the lead to be run down right on the post.
BR7 H8 LIVE AND FREE($3.90); No fancy odds here but is in very good form, good run last start at this level. This is his pet distance and can sit up behind the speed or further back. He will be chiming in at the right time.
LIVE AND FREE($4.20); 8TH beaten 1.3L, Bossy was in all sorts of trouble in the straight climbing over everything, once clear flew at the line. No doubt would have won otherwise.
MR3 H2 MILWAUKEE($4.80); In great form this prep. Only goes up a kilo off last run. The step down in distance shouldn’t be an issue. The only start at this distance was at Caulfield and was caught wide. The Flemington straight is his speciality. 3 wins and a placing from 6 starts. From barrier 7 should be able to get a sit in behind the lead. Not much pace so hopefully sits a little closer and be pouncing out wide and getting the cash!. Poy has won on him before so knows the horse very well. Great chance.
Milwaukee($5); FIRST, blocked for a run behind Spending To Win and then under the pump at the 400m then sprouted wings and dove through late to prevail in a close go. GIDDYUP!!!
BR9 H5 QUILISTA ($15); Found the 1300m just a little too far last start. Dropping back to the 1200m is ideal. Drops half a kilo from last start. From barrier 9 and plenty of speed in the race she should be able to get a sit in behind the pace hopefully mid field, and can pounce on the weakening leaders and get up on the line. A ridiculous price the whips will be cracking!.
QUILISTA($15); 13TH beaten, this mare loves to lead dropped back to midfield and 3 wide entire trip never likely.
Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara has attracted a very strong line up and our top 2 are Invincibella and Jamaican Rain. Invincibella($10) is back in form and will get a great run just off the pace, Jamaican Rain($31) this mare ran in the Goodwood 1200m Group 1 handicap last start and endured a torrid run 5WNC early and then 3WNC the rest of the trip right up on the speed (1.09.3) and still managed to finish 7th 4.6L from the winner. We stated back then that trainer B. Laming might bring her to Queensland and with Jamie Kah on I will be having an each way play on her for sure at succulent odds. The best wet track horse I have ever seen in my racing years was Stainvita in the 70’s he would win by big margins and the worse the conditions got the better he went which leads me to Jungle Edge($4) race 4 Sydney this bloke is the best wet tracker around and his 59.5kegs won’t stop him. Racing has become super competitive over the last 3 to 4 months and today is no different and it’s probably because of the “clean out” in my opinion. So on that loquacious note have a great weekend and above all “ENJOY YOUR RACING” and “GOOD LUCK” to all from HORSEBUCK$
Action aplenty last Saturday with Milwaukee($5) saluting for Our Best and Shogun Sun going down by the proverbial after a brilliant ride by Blake Shinn. Also Invincibella saluting for us in the Tatt’s Tiara at $11 and Jamaican Rain($31) 5th but just a shade unlucky. Jamaican Rain to the Sunshine Coast next? Once again it shows the importance of reading our pre race summary where we will summarise the main race of the day. It was a very competetive day’s racing but we came up with some great results in our top 4 tips(for multi runner players) 18 winners 7 on top, the best being Romancer $28.30/$7.60, Hanover Square $23.80/$6.20 and Invincibella $11 to name a few. Main quaddie at Eagle Farm paying $1,058, not a lot of action in the exotics arena the best being Trifecta in the Tatt’s paying $264 and quinella/exacta MR9 $86.50/$191 so some joy there but over all a cracking day. Jump on our web site www.horsebucks.com.au and check out all our results and summaries. Have a great week and “GOOD LUCK” to all from HORSEBUCK$
